Looks like it will rock some wide offset wheels to clear the front springs. That offset pumpkin makes leaf springs very, ummm, whats the word. A pain to use20241230_013121.jpg20241230_013148.jpg20241230_013008.jpg

when i convert ar60s to leafs i have to cut down part of the pumpkin to make room for the spring purch other wise your leaf springs are way to wide for the chassis
kinda like doin a spring over on a scout dana 44

Hey, I'm not from Missouri, but, show me! Pics are a worth a million words. I'd like to see yours. I looked over some of your builds, but couldn't find anything relevant to this.

Have you tried the wendigo axles or "xr247" iirc if you bought them separately.
they look like they'll fit.

sorry ill get some pics of the ar60s set up for leafs tomarow

the xr247 are nice beefy axles i have a set and ive done a few builds with them
my biggest issues with them are poor steering angle and there plastic
on the up side they seem to be over built and i like there profile if that makes sense
my marksman/gen8 build is gonna have a ar60 up front and the xr247 rear and ill use the beefy 247 steering axle on the rear of something for 4ws
ive built a few alloy ar60 front 247 rear rigs and its a great combo in my opinion

Well, them being plastic isn't that big of a deal. Just can't drive it like it's a rental car. I think i may have helped the steering a smidge little bit as seen here:17357172328637821610048569079316.jpg
Hurr is a wendigo rear axle placed on a jimny. Looks like they will fit. Both are just hanging out doing 0, so they'll do after I put a frame together and hang the leafs.17357172328637821610048569079316.jpg20241231_234402.jpg20241231_234610.jpg20241231_235240.jpg20241231_235248.jpg20241231_235255.jpg

um kay sorry for the lag
this axle was cut for leaf springs but got repurposed and is now linked but makes it easy to see the cut

also ryft axles its harder to tell cause the leafs are still bolted up lol

So, I bought this, because, lazy! Screenshot_20250129_192808_Chrome.jpg
I have this much leftover after the " junk " removal.

Still to swap axles, and put them under the springs. Bought some aliexpress special brass axles. Let's see, how they look once they show up.Screenshot_20250129_191201_AliExpress.jpg
Body looks funky placed on top right now. Nothing lines up, as the servo is mounted differently than on the Fj40.

This servo mount is certainly different the than from the jimny and the jeep. It is from a conversion kit, but comes stock on the FJ40. 20250130_212814.jpg

Progress, it's level.20250201_011641.jpg
I'm glad I bought the rtr ( I'm busy with 12 sem hrs of college) so the extra frame I initially bought for this build will serve for the extended frame rail, and expedite everything.

So the 32tpi plastic sword came out and caused some damage like this: 20250201_175953.jpg20250201_175947.jpg
smoke break, and then it looked like this 20250201_184327.jpg
Some "bondo" and it'll look like it came like that from the showroom floor.20250201_184315.jpg
Birds eye view

Now, i just need to look up the wheelbase of the real deal, cut the other chassis and marry them.20250201_184301.jpg

So, according to internet, it say, a Toyota Fj40 has a wheelbase of 90" or 2285mm. The Fj45 having the LWB chassis extends it significantly by over two feet giving it the 116.1" wheelbase, or 2950mm for the Metric folks. 26.1" difference! I wonder what that scales out to?

I also get to fire up the old brain for some modeling this 17384799408288172631167375315861.jpg in some 3d programme, in double size, and knock off the spider webs off the Ender 3Pro and attempt some prints.

Dont forget to push that front axle forward a bit. Nothing ruins the look of an FJ40 more than missing that detail, cough... Proline cough

Looks like a fun project (y)
