The RCC Hobby Machinists Challenge

this reminds me of a saying that was used in a shop i used to work in.

"Quality, Quantity, Deadline....Pick two, that's all your getting" :ror:

:ror: I'm always telling my boss, "I can do it right, or I can do it right now. Pick one."

i have lots of work to get done this weekend. hope i have some material around that will work on my drill press setup! might need to stack up some cutting board delrin stuff to get the hunks i need.

Tick tock.

If you're done and have pics, start sending them to me.

If you aren't done, the deadline is midnight on Monday (central time). I will not accept any entries that are late.

its a bench top still press, and i have a simple xy vise, i fed too quickly on a pass on some alum, and the spindle has a good wobble in it now.

i was trying to make a motor mount you can use anywhere on the chassis rails.

My drill press has a tapered quill that allows replacement of the chuck. Yours might too. post a pic.

btw I'm going to have to pass on the machinist challenge this time.

i can get the chuck off no problem. but its the spindle that broke. i have heard from my brother that i can get a replacement spindle for it. but its just a bench top press from Harbor Freight. really want to get a floor standing one for my next press.

really pissed though. i had a great thing coming along, but damn thing broke. maybe i will try to straighten the wobble and get something done by midnight tomorrow.
