I am trying to use magnets i found at hobby lobby they are the size of a pencel eraser cut in half and the strength is strong enough to go through 1'' wood.

Unfourtionitly, the holes are already there. I would have liked to use magnets but i was being dumb and reamed holes in it without thinking. so im just gonna paint the front posts copper. I can just throw a spare in the rear to cover thoes

been a while on the updates but finaly got one.
I ditched the boggers. Ever since i got them, i know that they just wouldent look right. not without major body trimming and a pinch/dovetail on the body. I reverted back to the stock flatirons from my scx10 kit and they look much better. I also used the scx10 shocks from the kit and lowered the body. Way better i think. Thinking about going to 1.5s but not to sure.

Now that thats over with... I got a few things done on it
Finally did the velcro body mounts. I was worried about the strengh but so far so go. I am also align the body correctly so it dosent look like i missed on the links

Started looking at the Road Armour bumpers for the 1:1s. and knew i had to get one made for my ford. I thought about having one made custom but i saw this one from a radio shack rc in the FS section with near exact dimensions as the front clip of the body. so i picked it up. No depth to mount a winch or anything but its the look i was going for. And it dosent kill my approach angle:ror:

Also made this trailer out of aluminum and .093 thick Lexan sheet. Used a mrc axle and hpi touring car wheels and tires. Not the best but its my first trailer and i used what i had. More of a utility trailer than anything

This thing crawls like a champ, but you haven't mentioned the best upgrade of all..... ;-)

A day of custom fabbing:ror:

There is a good 3-4 inch gap between where the frame ends and the back of the body which has bugged me since i built it. To solve it, i figured makin frame extensions. I had some angle aluminum that would work perfect. I brought them out even with the back.

sweet...but i gotta top it off some how. A bumper came to mind. so i went down to lowes to get some hardware, corner brackets, and something to use for the actual bumper. Found some 1/2 in square tube that would be tough but look right also. Cut it to length and measured out the middle third where the "step" would be. Drilled out a hole for my trailer ball, then primered and painted it gloss black. I didnt think to take pics during the build but here is the finished product.

How do you lot get the tires to flex cause I have a set of standard honcho 1.9s and they are stiffer than a concrete block how do I get them to flex more

I have 1/8 in holes in my wheels to vent them. Also the more you use the tires, the better they are able to flex and conform to terrain

new meats

My order of the new 1.9 Pit Bulls came in today. Been waitin since late may for these:ror: Look is stellar. byfar the best ive seen of any scale tire. oh and the Komp Kompound with dual stage foams...well im super exited to try em out:mrgreen: Oh and there mounted on axial 8 holes painted with hammertone bronze and motoworx TR rings

Another update. Hadnt touched it in the last couple of months but i gave the ol rig a tune up and ran the NMRCC Halloween Hammer-down last Sunday. Which was pretty dang fun"thumbsup". No major damage other than the front wheel bolts working loose and stripping out the hexes. It was after i ran in the 1.9 class while we were doing some scaling on the course. I didnt stop running it:ror:. the Pit bull tires were the reason it was doing so well in 2wd:lmao:

3 pics of my truck at the Hammer down. (thanks stick boy rick and dubaaron)

Now i knew that i needed new wheels and i had been looking at Motoworx's wheels for a while now. Well the tough decision of picking which 1.9 aside, I bit the bullet and bought them.

Ive never had Al wheels before so it'll be a big step up and it will at 1lb of goodness down low ( motoworx i gotta ask how you get each wheel and its rings and hardware exactly 4 oz:shock:). They also mounted up to the Pit Bulls beautifully.

did some more work on it today. the big thing was getting a working CMS all setup in the truck. If it were not for a carbon mrc servo plate i had laying around, the servo would still be on the axle. with the plate sitting on top of the rails directly in front of the shock towers, the horn had lots of clearance all around

i had planned to keep the 4 link but after some reading and searching, i ended up going to a proper 3 link. The panhard bar took some thinking to get mounted because im using venom axles but i got it to work

The lower mount is bolted to the top of the knuckle( its aluminum so no worries)
2011-11-25_21-15-49_580.jpg

And i made a bracket that bolts the upper to the driver side rear of the servo plate
photobucket-16613-1322282632051.jpg

Due to clearance issues, I had to bend the panhard bar but in looking at it , not as much. Works fine but Ill need to make another

I also found these cool plastic strips in the garage. I figured they would be good to help keep some of the gunk and dirt out from the venerable area of the chassis, namely the battery

Re: "The Rocker" Ford F250 Crew Cab

After running the truck for much of December with a Raptor body, i felt it was the time to swap in the F250s rear links and swap in the 50T motor in place of the Trinity Midnight motor and do some crawling. Still a good amount of snow but the rocks were dry. Got some pics with my phone. Enjoy"thumbsup"
