This is why VP products are only on my screen saver and not on my crawler

If it makes you feel any better.....I broke the door handle on my ferrari......just a door handle. Replacement was $800 plus install....came to over a $1000.

Blew my heater core too.......replacement was $2500 plus install. You think a $2500 heater core would last till the end of time....

VP wheels are the ferrari of RC crawling, plain and simple.....I have a few sets and they are wonderful. I am hoping at some point I will be able to machine something remotely as nice....

thats funny u say this... tcs just charged tax for a set (2) rovers. the LHS would have been cheaper this time around.

Subtotal: $11.99 Shipping cost: $5.10 Arizona city and state tax 9.500%: $1.14 Total: $18.23

They were $22.80 before tax at hobby action last week when I was there...

$31.36 for a full set shipped from tcs with tax.

$49.93 for a full set from a hobby action...

cheaper...they are local to us...just wish we could do local pick up though...

i did go in there on thursday to see if hey had any axial outdrives... nope. but the did have a set (2) of dh comps and 3 or 4 DNA digs prices at $84:shock:
after how they have treated alot of us local drivers and former employees they dont deserve the business. just my .02

You are in Arizona with TCS, of course you got charged tax.
please dont act oblivious to the point i was making;-). i was clearly stating that yes... even online stores charge tax

Their wheels are the shit. Period. No one has a more universal, sexy, and strong wheel. I have had a couple sets of the SLW's, because I like running light trucks. I havent 1 complaint. If I wanted to run a heavier truck, I WOULD spend the $$ on the DH's. You get what you pay for generally.

I have been running them since 5/2008 and they are the best.

The guys there a top notch, the best actually, they invited us in for a tour of the facility, and showed us sneak peaks of new top secret products!

The best out there. No and if or buts.

I just recently got some BL's from VP for my scaler and I love them. I can't quite afford some for a comp rig yet but when I can I'll be getting some for sure. I've also been investing in some of their other parts and everything they make is top of the line! You want quality then you pay for it."thumbsup"

I tried other vendors wheels and there are some nice ones, but now that I have a few sets of VP's DH's and SLW's, there is no going back!

Who is this VP you are speaking of?:lmao::lmao::lmao:
seriously though, i'm not just a dealer for them but i run their stuff, i was lucky enough to get to know the guy's over there and when you purchase VP product's, they will back any complaint and repair/replace with a moments notice! this is why you get what you pay for!
By far the choice of champions!
Just look it up!"thumbsup"

Umm... yeah... thats called common sense.

I was not aware it had to be stated that if you bought something from the state you are currently in you have to pay tax(excluding drug sales in back allies).
Not one of the brightest bulbs in the box are you?:ror:"thumbsup"

There is no tax on online orders.

Definitely first rate products. I ordered slw v4's a while back and they kept me updated with their progress as the beadlock rings were back ordered at the time. Customer service sells!!!"thumbsup""thumbsup" And by the way they were $235 landed Canadian with bullet weights i can't use yet(dumb ass of the century). But i see some Pro comps in my near future

Origanal Post........

Well what's your thought's on VP now:flipoff:. Looks like 2 pages of nothing but great comments about the wheels to me. "thumbsup"VP SLW V4's"thumbsup"

You do indeed, get what you pay for.

OR you could always.

Buy cheap, buy twice... or more.

VP makes some sweet wheels for sure, and there are several vendors here on the site too that make really nice wheels. Some are less expensive than others. It all boils down to what you can afford and what you like."thumbsup" You can't always have your cake and eat it too.

Like everyone said you get what you pay for! I don't have the cash flow for a lot of the high end crawler stuff either but there is ways around it. Post up a tread in the WANTED section and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for at half the price! 8)

gonna be a jerk for a moment....this is exactly why the U.S. is suffering. (said the guy who didnt know any better and bought an rs10, working on upgrading however most are made overseas anyways) when there is a good product made right here in the united states we, the consumer, complain about the price. You do get what you pay for and if I had big bucks in a rig and or it was making me money i wouldnt hesitate to buy that stuff. So you gotta lay off the sodas and fast food for awhile. your body will thank you for it later. I agree though as the average consumer and below average crawler this seems really high. But it is something that is worth it and I am sure the gain will be worth more than the price. I went on enough.......now I need a beer.

Another way to save money is buy used.

I did. I bought set used VP DH's full weighted and extra rings for $160 shipped and 2 pairs of SWL's for 80 without the hubs.

Quit the day dreaming Bitching and man up... buy some VP'S already!! "thumbsup"

buying used really helps save some coin. but like the others have said. its really not that expensive when you think about what is involved in getting them ready to ship from raw material. the overhead involved from materials, labor, rent, utilities, packaging.
my vp wheels was expensive, but one of my favorite purchases for my rig.
makes adjusting weight a breeze, you can adjust width for the course at hand quickly, and the beads mount with little effort.

thanks vp for awesome product"thumbsup"
