I can't believe this issue isn't a sticky!
Surely there must be a list of the colour codes used by manufacturers to indicate how hard/soft the rubber compound is?

What I've found out this far, and might have gotten wrong...
Pink: Extremely soft.
White: Very soft.
Blue: Soft.
Red: ?
Other: ?

Please add to the list!

I've always wondered what they meant. I just picked up somewhere that white is the best and blues are for the rear
For HB,

Red = Super Duper Soft :lol:
Pink = Super Soft
White = Soft
Blue = Medium

As SKSS said, each manufacturer uses different colors to indicate different compounds..."thumbsup"

Other way around Jeremy...

Haha! I always thought the reds were the softest...:lol:

Nah...remember the PINK rovers...ewww :roll: at least on most types of rock anyway. The only situation I've found that I like the pink dot pin tires is when the rock is wet, or extremely cold, but I still prefer to run the red dot tires in just about every situation.

At least there's one easy to access definitive list: "The specifications can be visually differentiated by the colouring of the sidewall lettering: super soft - red; soft - yellow; medium - white; hard - silver."

... too bad it doesn't apply to the tyres we use. :(

It sounds like you've got another list to start compiling. "thumbsup"
This one should be harder to figure out then motors to.. :lmao:

Its not like one soft will react the same as another soft since they all use there own little mix for the rubber..

Do the manufacturers even release what all the different colors mean? Someone should find out and make a chart for every tire manufacturer.
for not just crawler tires but racing ones aswell

---------HB---------Losi---------PL----------AKA-----------etc....

red

white

blue

pink

Haha, you should be glad we don't use foams then, 1:12th is a frickin mare

pink, double pink, magenta, plaid, blue, gold dot, gold star, silver dot, silver star, green, orange, black...then there's the dual compounds...:shock:

...plus tyre treatments :mrgreen:

At least foam is all measuring density.. Still something I dont miss :ror:

No it's not, you can get two makes of foam, same shore rating, completely different characteristics on the track

...anyway, don't want to threadjack

It'd be a great idea to have a definitive list of crawling tyre compounds available
