Tires to fit Tamiya Blazin Blazer?

Hello all, been here a while but just started posting. My question is does anyone still make a tire that fits the old three-speed trucks? I've got a Blazer I would like to make into a trail runner but the tires have seen better days. I've heard that there are a couple of outfits making rims to fit 2.2's, but I haven't come across anyone.

Well if you can't find any tires or rims, I will buy that truck off of you. Didn't rc4wd have some? But I havn't been hearing the best of things about them right now.

a lot of HPI 2.2 rear wheels include adapters that let you use the rims on old Tamiyas with the 5-lug pattern. pick up a set of those and your choices are endless

I know this guy had some aluminum wheels made for the hilux/blazer that would allow it to use 2.2 tires. I am not sure if he still has them in stock but you could try and contact him to see, that is if you don't mind aluminum wheels.....bruiserbuilder@cox.net

Cool everyone, thanks for the info. Aluminum is always in style and I am by no means a "purist", I believe anything made can be made better (I can feel the scorn from tamiyaclub already). I will contact bruiserbuilder and see what he's got to offer. I did check the HPI wheels and couldn't find anything that looked right.

I think its in my will for me to be buried with the blazer, so the chances of me selling it are slim! I'm actually trying to get all of the three speed trucks on the shelf, got the mounaineer and the blazer so far.

RD400 - I don't care what kind of excuse I come up with, your mission is to drag me out no matter what I say. This weekend is reserved for some hardcore ****ing off! We need to go to the dam site or Schram Park. Now that I have some working chargers I have no excuse, hehe. By the way, a lathe on the bench does not a machinist make, so get over here and lets figure this thing out. I just found a place to get good deals on metal stock here in town.

on bruisers you can put 2.2 tires on the stock rims. dont know about the blazers though

On the bruisers and mounties I think they will, but the blazer and Hi-lux use a smaller rim, it's around 1.9 to 2 inches (just eyeballing it). I think I'm actually going to attempt a set of rims on my lathe. If that doesn't work i'll just order a set and tell the wife that I made them....

Blazer and Hilux wheels are 2.0s. What I have on my truck are Bruiser axles that use the 2.2s .You can also just buy bruiser Hubs and use Bruiser wheels.Only prob I see is that you would then have to use the Blazer/Hilux C Clips with Washer to hold the wheels on instead of the Bruiser Nut

I'd like to keep the stock hubs, the lockouts are only on the Blazer/Hilux. I'll be headed down to the metal supplier today and trying my hand at making a set on my lathe. Bruiserbuilder is my backup plan in case all I make is scrap.
