topcad products

It honestly varies. Most parts are great, but some are not so great. I've used their parts for a while, and generally I don't have any issues with them.
I would stay away from anything with a ball end (links, steering rod, etc) although I've not had problems with my shocks that have ball ends, I've seen them fail on other rigs.
I love the wheels I got from them though, they are currently on my G6 JK and work great, hold a bead very strong, and I don't have any issues with screw threads or hex pockets.

The only thing I have ever purchased from topcad was a steering system for the wraith - literally fell apart on the first run - won't buy anything of theirs again personally.

Honestly, Topcad has been bashed in several threads already...

I have run their Chubs and Knuckles on Ar60 axles and SCX10 axles without any issues...at all !

As someone with experience with quite a few TopCad parts:

I've had no issues with any of the above pieces. I've bought more than those parts as well with really no issues.

The steering link B94Cast mentioned is no good, but generally the parts are good.

I've seen topcad full metal scx10 somewhere, priced around $500 you get a complete roller, is it reliable?with metal axle, gearbox, links, wheels+tires made by topcad and with that price is very tempting, anyone tried this roller?

What is the box in the upper right corner of this picture?

It's not the finish of the integy part that people bitch about . Do they use the same materials ? If so no thanks .

I wasn't just saying the anodizing, but the actual finish machining on the parts is different.
I don't know what alloy they use, but I've never had any issues with their parts. I'm not saying they are high end, or that I am an expert on it, but I want to put my two cents in to show that there is possibly a budget option for some of these parts other than Vanquish. If you want to drop the coin on the premium stuff, then go ahead, but if someone wants to save a few bucks and get some decent parts, then at least they know they will most likely work.

What are some possible issues with cheap aluminum parts?
Bending? Stripped Threads? Fitment?

Never had an issue with any of those with one single exception with a little thick anodizing on a part where a bearing went in.

As I said before, if you stay away from the pressed in link end parts, and the "adjustable" steering link, you probably will be fine.

I've had a prob with holes tapped the wrong size or not deep enuff . Bolt holes not lining up . Soft materials bending easy . The parts have always looked great , finish was always nice .
