Topher builds a class 2 comp rig - Crawl Space Game Changer 4.2

Looks damn good bro! How do you like this compared to the GSPEED? What side plates did you use?

Lou

Thanks Lou! I was traveling this past weekend so I still haven’t driven it yet but hoping to get the maiden voyage done this coming weekend, or perhaps during the week if work/weather cooperate. Getting real hot out here these days when the sun is out.

What sliders are those?

Lou

Those are the ones that come with the Gc4.2 kit. I like em "thumbsup"

The time has come for a maiden voyage, she’s all ready to rock. If things go well I’ll have some video to share some point this weekend.

Finally got this one out on the rocks and oh boy it was a good time. This truck just works. It made lines look easy that normally challenge my other 12.3” rigs. Felt good to wheel and pretty predictable being that I hadn’t driven it before.

She’s a keeper. Here are some pics and a video from the first run.

Looks good, I like the color combo with those wheels!

Thanks Gary! "thumbsup"

Dang!!! I'm speechless!!! Are you using stickum on them tires??? That's definitely a keeper!!! Great job and video!! Keep it up!

Awesome video TB!"thumbsup"

She looks beautiful on them red rocks! You picked the right body colors for that awesome terrain!

You definitely need to hang on to this rig! If crawls that well on the first run, just wait till she's broke in!:)

Wow, makes me want to build one. I noticed the kit doesn't come with body mounts, what did you use to mount the body? What driveshafts are you running? Side note, those red rocks are really cool.

Thanks all! These tires were fresh predator hyrax, first time on dirt and they were as sticky as can be. Didn’t have traction problems once. Can’t wait to drive it again, hoping to get it and the gspeed put together this weekend.

@dezertdirt the body mounts are from team KNK and the driveshafts are SSD (for the 10.2/trail king). Also running the ssd shocks here as a lot of the parts on this one came from the trail king I had.

Watched the video, impressive. But what I really like is the trucks "stance.". It looks all business and practical in a hardcore scale way. Do not know any other way to describe it.

Wow...watched the video...now I want one of these "thumbsup"

Thanks for watching! Glad you both enjoyed it. I drove it again last weekend and had a great time, it’s a fun chassis and does work for sure.

Is it true crawlspace only ships in Colorado?

I think “from” Colorado is what you’re looking for. They’re based in Colorado and have two shops there.

I’m not sure if they ship internationally though, if that’s what you’d need, but if you hit up Ikaika Farrior on Facebook or through the crawlspace page you may get a quick answer.

Spent some more time with the GC4.2 yesterday and really enjoyed driving it. I took some weight out of it, had brass beadlock rings in the front wheels, and it did much better and was more predictable. Before I could really feel the extra weight shifting the truck around and pulling it off the line in some cases.

Overall a great run, may spend some more time on this chassis and get a smaller/cleaner battery tray in there and work on stiffening up the front body mounts.

Here’s a video from the day with lots of clips of other rigs as well.

My 4.2 will be ready for the weekend, so excited!! You have any issue with the pinion lining up? I had to shim my motor back a hair until I get a better fitting pinion gear.

How’d the first run go? Congrats on getting one built!

But no issues getting the pinion to line up with the spur for me. What motor are you using?

I'm trying a h&h crawlmaster, really not a long enough shaft end I think. Not enough length to turn the pinion around and use it backwards. The allen wint grab when reversed.
