Tower Hobbies

RPP rocks, but so does TCS and CKRC and Holmes, and well......all our vendors. I never order from Tower, I like to be able to call and talk to a "shop" and not an *customer service agent*. Maybe I'm "old school" but if I cant get it from my LHS or one of our RCC guys, I simply don't need it that bad.

I swear our vendors must bribe the post man sometimes, I don't know how parts get across the country so fast.
most of the vendors here are smaller companies so they package then drop items off at the post office so they usually ship that day, or first thing the next morning.

I usually stick with RPP, I have had great experiences with CKRC as well had my stuff in 2 days first class mail with them. You can't beat Tower with the easy pay and free shipping with the other discounts. I wish RPP had of had the Iroks in stock, it took 3 days after I placed my order for RC4WD to ship. That is the last time I order from them. Our local Hobby stores here are geared toward the nitro and plane scene and take weeks to get crawler parts. i am all about supporting local stores but will not over pay again and wait up to 2 weeks to get something that I could have ordered something online that will make it here in 3 days for the same price shipped not including the 20 bucks in gas to go there.

I usually get orders from tower got to my house a few days before the expected delivery date they gave durring checkout.. I just use them for the easy pay and when they have good discounts though..

Speaking of the $$ off, where the hell do they post the codes? I am a member of super saver for the discount and free shipping, but I always have to google coupon codes to find the current month codes. I would just love to know where they store them.

Confirm your e-mail address on file with them or check your junk folder... I get e-mails from them all the time, codes and other offers...

my LHS orders from tower hobbies and it usually takes 2 weeks doesnt matter what it is, could be a 10 dollar part or a 500 dollar part it takes the same amount of time.. im used to it now and just be patient.... or try to be anyways:mrgreen:

I don't order from RPP because they do not offer Parcel-Post. RC4WD's shipping does suck but sometimes they have what I need.. Towers prices can be beat, but thier shippings good. RCBOYZ kicks everybodies ass as far as ship-time. A Mains-good, Stormer kicks ass too.
As far as supporting my local LHS goes............HobbyTown, need I say more........I only go there in a pinch, and it has to be a severe pinch...

i like rpp better because they do not offer parcel post. i had rather get stuff priority or another service.

Been ordering from tower for nearly 15 years. Ill orders shipped via UPS take 2 days usually once shipped (to SE PA) though the ones from the revo warehouse take over a week. Ground shipping comes by train, so it takes a while. Doesn't matter if it is free shipping or not, base shipping always comes the same way. Usually the base UPS service beats the next level USPS "express" delivery.

For smaller items though, they use the mail innovations joint UPS/post office which is a train wreck. UPS delivers it in a timely fashion to the post office in NJ, and it usually sits there for a day or two. Then goes to Philly, then my local, then to my house. As soon as I see mail innovations, I know it'll be a while.

You guys are spoiled. I'm over the moon if anything arrives in less than two weeks

I agree with Jeremy that Corey must be bribing the postal and customs employees with drugs, money, prostitutes. Whenever I've ordered from rpp, it's here within a week. That includes going through customs. Don't know how the guy does it, seriously!

I really wanted to order from RPP but saving $50+ thru tower was just to good to pass up.It will be here Wednesday and then I can start my build!

yup me too.. it sucks:cry: my lhs will match tower hobbies prices. its awesome because i sift around on Towers website find the parts i need and pricing and grab some cash and i know how much i'll be spending when i get to my lhs.

Looks like I just won a $150 gift certificate from them, so I will be placing an order soon :mrgreen:

So I placed an order with Tower(Wraith kit) on Feb 25 and won't see it until March 7! Does this seem like a long wait to you guys?I payed thru paypal so that took an extra day for them to approve payment. The only reason I orderd thru Tower is because of the $50 off discount code.$50 bucks off and free shipping is great but why the long wait?I guess I need to be patient, not my best quality.

I do a lot of business with Tower ,here`s what they do with shipping, i live just 231 miles from their central Illinois warehouse(i live on the ohio river in southern illinois),if i use their super saver shipper ,instead of sending it directly to me they first send it to northern Illinois , Carol Stream,Illinois, then it goes out west to Kansas City, MO., then it comes back to illinois to harrisburg illinois( about 100 miles north of me ), then it finally arrives at my door, usually 7 to 8 days. If i want something sent directly to me i have to pay them 7.99 shipping or more , and incase you haven`t noticed they charge 8.25% sales tax , i called them about this and they said that was their local sales tax rate . My local tax rate is 6.25%.

So if you use super saver shipping ,no mater where you live they make sure it takes 7 or more days to get to you, so your package gets to go on tour like mine do.
