Hey guys, theres also a recall on newer Tundras and Tacomas for the gas pedal issue!
I might hold off on that it might trap what ever moisture is in there and make it rust even faster. I have heard that was a problem with the old zeibart stuff. People would get the doors done and next season they would rust out horribly.
I can't imagine how any of you guys that live in the salty areas handle it.

i find it funny that they didnt include utah...in the winter our roads go from black to white cause of the salt, makes black cars white....utah uses tons of salt on the roads:shock:following 20 Severe Cold Climate States and the District of Columbia are affected.

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/25/breaking-toyota-to-recall-3-8m-vehicles-to-reshape-and-replace/Give me the PANT# to verify your statement. I check the updates daily and have only heard from Toyota talking about the media stating incorrect things.
That gas pedal is clearly a design screwup on Toyotas part. Common sense would tell you not to shape the pedal like that (a ramp) because it can get under floor mats and etc.(Especially when its so close to the floor) The gas pedal should be flat. Using nothing but Toyota floor mats is extremely unrealistic. You know dam well when you design vehicles non OE mats are going to be put in. I never had OE floormats on any of my stuff because they suck and don't keep the carpet clean.
I'm getting a free sample of this to try.

Some guys coat the underside of their truck with it before winter to help keep the corrosion at bay. I'm going to spray the stuff up the drain holes in the door of my truck so the bottom of the doors don't rust. I'll see how it works.
I picked my truck up from the dealer today, they replaced the spare tire holder assembly and thats all.I guess the Toyota reps determined the rust wasn't bad enough to warrant a frame replacement.I think I will powerwash the frame and treat it with some sort of rust inhibitor just to keep it from getting any worse.
They do frame swaps at the Toyota dealer here, saw a stack of them sitting outside a couple weeks ago. I would never buy a mid-90's and up Toyota, or even take one for free. I don't know why Toyota decided to go with stamped baking sheets for frame rails.
