Transformation of E Maxx to 1/5 scale Rally Drift and Jump 4WD

cool build, very innovative.

ive just got into 1/5 scale onroad stuff myself and its a blast. the only thing i dont like is that i have to order everything i need online. its not that big a deal, i just hate waiting 2-3 weeks to get stuff from the US, getting parts from europe is quicker.

this has got me thinking about the junk t-maxx i have on the shelf, and all the other stock t-maxx parts my dad will never use again. however im not really thinking of electric or gas, thinking something more like 4 .28s lol.

MODIFICATIONS CONTINUE

1.Removed front and Rear spools and put heavy engine oil (only thing I had at the time) to the front diff.
2.Months later installed Diff in rear with 5000 weight oil
3.Built lay down style shock setup with temporary revo rockers
4.Machined Delrin blocks to hold it in place
5.Painted wheels.
6.Replace broken rear axle, may have to upgrade to Traxxas Summit shafts in the future.
7. In process of front and rear sway bar system

Acquired foam to start working on new body.

Mock up of front with ugly delrin shock support block.

looks wicked, that thing must be real light for a 1/5 scale.

thanks
I get lots of complements when I take to the hobby shop.

I'm not sure what the gas 1/5 weigh at but it might be even with mine.
I think the complete weight is about 11 lbs

heavy battery and motor and diffs
i should go weight it at the post office

VIDEO FINALLY, just before the car Killed my radio :-(
not the greatest video, but will get a high speed video later when I know the car will come back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LU426fa7WY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGm-tL2xGvs

THE steel spur, pinion and stainless driveshafts are causing huge EMF to my am radio, so after this video I cant use my radio for it anymore

Just in time
gonna have to build my 2.4 6ch pistol radio next.

What was the clicking noise in vids? Also that thing is fricken sweet, you could probably flip it over and it would still drive haha.

thats cool man good job, never thought the e maxx would be driftin good job, you should show a vid of it driving upside down

Sweet. I do have one issue though...it says "jump" in the thread title, but I didn't see any ramps in the vid. Whats up with that?

Yeah, but will your SC truck go 65 mph? I think not.

Take to the sky son!

LOL, Maybe make a large scale SC !

Made some upgrades
Needing new shafts . ( keep breaking)

Installed my custom adjustable brake button on the DX6i (silver tab on the grip behind the throttle)

NEW Tires !
Reinforced the chassis
New upper chassis rails
New Aluminum motor plate
Moved the Motor and battery to left side for better weight distribution

Results were great !
I was able to drive it with the huge body on it and reach 58mph before it STARTED to FLY up into the AIR !:surprised:

what happen I think is the rear stub axle broke which could have aided in the front lifting. Happened so fast the front was an easy 10 inches off the ground before I released the throttle
