Traxxas vxl 3s. Anybody uses it ?

If you are talking about the 3s 5000mah lipo from max amps, then sure it can be used they are wonderful batteries. As long as your motor and esc can handle 11.1 volts.

I have a 6000mah one i use in my xxxt and will be in my 1.9 scaler soon, because i already have it, I wouldnt buy one just for a crawler though, its a good battery but larger (and more expensive) than needed for a crawler. I run 2100mah 3s (holmes hobbies 39.99) in my 2.2 scaler with a mm caslte bec and crawlmaster 3014, it lasts 90ish minutes and is 1/3 the size, and price of that vxl pack.

Ohh, well in that case, I have no idea. I use mamba max's in my rigs, sorry for the mix up.

The specs on that esc seem up to par, I would definatly try it out if I already had one laying around. I would buy a mamba max if i was buying a new one.

I do have a Stampede VXL, so I know about the system. It has TONS of low end torque and is relatively cog-free, so it could make a good crawler setup. The only concern I would have it the heat - mine routinely runs around 190F on the can and esc. Crawling along might not create the issue as bad, but I would keep an eye on it the first few runs. You would want to gear it down a lot and probably run it in training mode, where throttle is cut to 50%. That should help keep the throttle curve managable, because it can be touchy.
