I had a slash 2wd and have a slash 4wd all came with these servo's
they have plastic gears and they are not that super strong.

i have gone thru 4 of these servo's in 1,5 year. bot mechanical of electrical failure

only good thing about these servo's is that they are waterproof.

but you can easily make your servo waterproof yourself with plastidip and put it in a baloon

EDIT: the XL-5 speedo is nothing wrong with it. it is water resistant, I wouldnt submerge it fully and this asc has no lipo-cuttoff

ok so you think its not waterproof? the esc thanks

The ESCs and the servos are waterproof and should work fine in you scaler for you're wanting out of it. Some may have just gotten some lemons. I have seen plenty work, completely submerged.

I had a lot of the traxxas waterproof servos. I have no doubt they are wateproof but being plastic geared they strip constantly. I have a rather large collection of stripped and burnt ones sitting in my hobby junk drawer if that tells you anything, and none on any of my trucks.

Get a hitec 5645mg instead. Metal, digital, and wateproof.

I just installed the VLX system from a Slash 4x4 into a SCX-10 chassis. I tried using a 10T pinion gear and a 89T spur gear, and the rig is still jittery while trying to creep and at full throttle the motor would get hot. I ended up using a 16T pinion gear and made a stupid fast trail rig out of it.

Hey. Champ how did the whole car take it? I mean did u break anything? Driveshafts piping out twisting etc..stripping the gearbox? Thanks

I have had several of the traxxas waterproof esc's both two motor and single(xl-5) and haven't had any problems. I run underwater, slightly salt water actually and they do great. make shure to put some kind of filter on the motor if your in mud or wet sand, that stuff will eat comms and brushes. servos are good for 1/10 trail trucks but not much else IMHO.
