Whats trials x? Julien Dupont is an amazing rider and I love riding trials. Would be amazing to ride with him but Dick Mann can kick my butt.

It amazes me how many people dont know what Trials is. I have only been fortunet enough to see it in person one time in Disney Ok.
I wish I had the ability to ride like that. I expect to see it come to X Games soon.

You think it amazes you....I ride both moto and bicycle trials and 99% of the time people are just like; " where is your seat?" or "How do you sit down?" I have a thick sticker on the airbox of my GasGas and you just dont unless your stopped on the bicycle.

Dupont makes me want to get out on the moto again but there is no one to ride with within about 100 miles of me.

Tapatalk didnt show me there was a video. Sometimes I hate tapatalk.

BTW, Danny Macaskill has a video series starting up in a week or so.

Love Trials too.
But there is something that gets me on the Urban side of it. I love riding street BMX and I ride Dirt bikes. This seems to combine the best of both.

I work in Hollywood Ca. Can you imagine cruising around Hollywood Blvd. doing Urban trials riding. Would be a blast, except for the LAPD.

this amazes me. the strength it must take to hop a bike around, the balance to pretty much keep the front wheel off the ground. but i am in in awe of how in sync they are with the bikes. timing the throttle with their physical jump. unreal. i watched the videos that were posted here. tho, i have a few questions some of you may be able to answer. are the bikes manual or automatic? and the throttle, twist or thumb? i keep trying to wrap my tiny brain around timing both the clutch (if manual) and the throttle with the riders physical exertion for the jump, or hop. lol. i also cant wrap my brain around hopping around like that and not throttling (if they are twist throttle) in my mind to make a jump like that, from a stand still, while the front tire is in the air, you would have to lean back and then hop forward while throttling. damn it, my head hurts now :lmao:

Manuals are a must. The engines are tiny and the clutch is used to "pop" the bike and twist grips are all ive seen.

Duluth was fortunate enough to host the world finals and the fork technology is pretty bad ass.

Lol. The bikes are manual, 5 or 6 speed and have impressively durable clutch plates. Took me a few years to burn thought the ones on my GasGas. They are all twist throttle too. As with anything, you get used to it. The throttle and clutch timing can be pretty hard but its nothing like trying to learn rear wheel hops and gapping on a trials bicycle.

The bike are all generally much under MX bike weight, my GasGas is a 280 Pro and come in around 141 pounds wet. The motors have much different characteristics the MX motors too. Very torquie and much of the power is low. Even though a 280 does t sound bit, I know alot of guys that ride 400cc MX style bikes that won't touch it. It stands strait up in 6th and will catch you by surprise. I've ridden the GasGas 125, 200, 250, 280 and 300. Believe it or not that 300 is pretty mellow, the 125 will surprise you, the 200 will get with it, the 250 has some good power but the 280 is nuts.
