I must have missed something or not understanding.
I see all these scaler guys popping up and starting clubs (or resurrecting old ones).
Why be in a scaler club and want to participate in events but you're only willing to
throw a parma body on a scorpion and say "scale". Just seems hypocritical to me.
And believe me I do understand the whole money issues (for mods, etc.) as well.
Still being unemployed, I have to sell off things (or trade) to get the things I may want.
So that whole argument is out the window. Point being, if you want to do it then do it.
But if you're only willing to do it half-a$$ed or half-heartedly then don't cry if you’re
penalized or maybe even not allow to run (this would be extreme).
I find comps fun & enjoyable even with all the rules.
But they are there to keep folks on the same playing field.
I am not bashing, arguing or complaining, just expressing a view.
I decided to revive or actually start up a local club because the local club that had already been created was pretty much dead. @robotboy as for opinions or points of view..... That's the great thing about it, you can feel anyway you want and it's not wrong. I do agree just throwing a scale dodge body on an ax10 really doesn't make it a SCALE rig. The one that converts his ax to an scx10 and attempts to get a little more out of his build is good. I also agree it would be good to have a set rules for all the comps we have so like you have said we all have an equal playing field.
As for the list of acceptable tires... I'm cool with that since I believe tires can really give you an advantage over another driver. But for having scale accessories or full interior and things like this should just be bonus points for those who do have them or have done more to their rig. They should be rewarded for their hard work. I know there are more then a few that DON'T have winches, I myself only have one winch so I would have issues with this being a must. I am by no means complaining just kind of pointing out or discussing some ideas or situations for the upcoming comp year.
This is one reason why having a GTG before hand and discussing the upcoming comp or series is a good idea.
