Latest attempt. Building the truck that I'm scared to do with my full size:lmao:
1/16 summit front ifs and trasmission.
scx10 frame
4 linked axial rear axle for now, planning on rc4wd yota axle with leaf springs.

Kinda the plan, but I'm not sure how much the little ring a pinion up front or the 1/16 summit trasmission can handle. Going to try the traxxas 380 brushless for now. A 12t 550 mated to that drivetrain direct from traxxas is offered, so who know for sure on durability.

Hoping to build some flared fenders to cover the tires a little more.

That little 1/16 ring and pinion can take a beating. When I had my 1/16 slash I absolutely thrashed that this with a 3 cell lipo.:twisted: It just kept coming back for more. Sweet build by the way."thumbsup"

sooo excited to see this to the end, im in the planning and building stage also with my scx10 with a hard body f150,and also like you it will be a mix of things i dream of doing and have done to my 1:1 f150. i was looking into doing a independent front suspesion also, so are the e revo the same width as the axial axle and what about the gear ratio

I haven't actually measured it, but the erevo/summit front eyeballed seems to be a tad wider. Bought a set of slash arms to compare and the 1/16 slash arms are about 3/4" shorter per side. Gear ratio I haven't figured out yet. Worst case I stick with the axial rear, they have 3 ratios to choose from.

Well in my adventures i did find the hpi savage and the high speed axial gear set from axial were the same i believe the 14/36 ratio never did make a match with a traxxas product. And dont worry about the strength on that front diff my one buddy is running 3s lipo with a 540 mamba max on his 1/16 e revo and has yet to cook a diff so go for broke in the power deptment

Sort of mobile. Had to flip the front differential as it was driving in the reverse direction of the rear.:lmao:. Small rib had to be trimmed to clear the ring gear in the housing. Ground down a pin to adapted the 4 mil driveshaft to the 5 mil rear. Used a old Axial steering knuckle as a carrier bearing to hold it all.

Not impressed with the Traxxas 380 brushless. Changed the transmission gears to lower the ratio more. Way overgeared for my plans. Top speed is silly for this setup, uncontrollable on 3s lipo. 540 brushed is in it's future now.

Mounted up some TLT shocks. Little tuning will be needed, spring seems soft, but the dampening is too much to let the suspension move.

Measured track width, had to put two rulers together, so add 5".
Front is a touch over 9" with stock traxxas hex's and hpi 0 offset wheels

Playing with ride height. Lowered the body 5/16 more than this and the chassis a bit too.

Looks like a really cool project, I can just picture that front end floating over the bumps now.

Flares are shaping up, kinda reminds me of the Arctic Trucks style. tried to do a little color for contranst, but the paint and cold weather didn't agree.

some new tires and rims for a class 2 option and a little paint for effect.

Been fiddling with a working tailgate too.
