A 3a beck isn't going to supply much better power than some rtr esc's and 3a is actually less than some higher end escs

they work for just pounding around in a scaler. not much for powering the high torque servos you see used much in competitions.

great for powering accessories tough. I use to use them on a lot of the scale rigs I built, power the lights and gadgets but wouldnt stick on on for a winch.

Yeah, I'll just reiterate what's already been said. I just pulled one out of my 10.2 as a failed experiment.

3A isn't enough power to provide an improvement over most ESC's and the 5V/6V restriction doesn't allow the real benefit of a good BEC which is running high voltage (i.e. 6.6V or 7.4V).

I plan to just use it for running accessories on some other rigs just to take some of the heat load off the ESC's..

A 3a ubec will power a LV <7.4v single servo setup. HV servos probably not. I've used that exact bec in a heli with 4 servos, outrunner motor, esc, rx and a fbl unit with no brown-outs.

Those HW 3a ubec's is great for scalers with moderate servos. Have used them a lot on cheap rigs for kids, or light trail scalers. No issues with them what so ever. And 3a is enough on light rigs that does not have big power hungry servos. And it's a lot better then many internal bec. Cus you take the load of the esc and power the servo from the battery. Always connect them with a rx bypass.
Hobbywing 1060/1080 and this is a good combo on said rigs. Paired with a Hackmoto brushed motor you got a cheap and reliable combo.

I've used them with good luck on scalers. One was a solar d772 and I was worried about how much power it was going to pull. So, I bought 2 ubec's, wired them in parallel to give me 6amps constant and 10amps burst. Never had a problem. I do run castle now since I've got a link and do love their product and think it's a great value to have if you have esc's that can be tunes with the castle link.

I like buying most of my electrical from Holmes, but Heyok makes a nice bec that you can tune with a volt meter. I have both, and have no preference, the nice thing is they are both venders on here!"thumbsup"

THats right. My first blazer has the heyok BEC and I really do like that you can tune that one with no computer. His products are great and service is even better!
