Udr tires on gatekeeper

I'll bet UDR tires have a much harder rubber compound than nearly any 2.2" tires you might find - a poor choice for using on a Gatekeeper.

Pro-line has 3 different 2.2" tires with an average height of 5.75" - the Trencher, the TSL SX XL, and the Hyrax.

All would be a nice and sticky, yet tall choice.

UDR tires are the same height as 2.2s for a Bomber, for instance, at 5-1/2”. They will totally suck for a crawler tire, hard rubber compound for a 13 lb. go fast truck. They are 2.2/3.0 sc format so that makes them stiffer yet. Finally, front and rear are different offsets, so if you do get some, get a matching set. They will fit a regular 17 mm hub, even though it is that funky Traxxas design. For paddle tires, they are the only ones that size that I am aware of. On a side note with 17 mm hubs, look at AE DB8 General Grabbers on Method wheels. Soft and sticky in a sc format.

The last couple of Gatekeepers I’ve seen at the local track had me chuckling. For whatever reason everyone has been putting big ass 2.2s (almost Sherp looking) on them. They look weird, don’t steer well, and seem to handle like crap. Kinda looking like some secret Gatekeeper cult forming. Hey, do what you like. Just odd that so many are going in that direction.

I snapped a pic with a 2.2 Bomber tire, looks terrible and steering is limited to about 30°-35°, it rubs the body/cage badly. I think its bound to perform worse, higher CG and worse steering. Maybe with some AR60's this might not look terrible... maybe.

Yeah I decided to get a SCX6 after I'd basically ran out of storage space, now it lives on my work bench or on the floor lol

Too funny, I was searching the image for an old-fashioned pin-up girl calendar in the background...

Before I released you were talking about the SCX6!
