First thanks to all who have shared their knowledge here its great that you can read through and learn more than just rc's

A special thanks to carterfab.com he's by far been my favorite to deal with he's a true professional

So about my wraith I'm not doing a build pic by pic when I figure out how to post pics I will but I'm sloooow with tech so plz be patient with me they will come I have no budget and this has been my first rc experience and I'm 35yrs old (sad very sad!!!!) So far I've bought a wraith rtr about 1yr ago and broke it with first battery about 30 seconds in $399 and that's all I got l fixed it with vp's stage 1 kit and plug battery back in a 20ft trip on bumpy grass and what's this the front axle not lookin right now a closer look and its a broken lower link so some 10pc VP links later and a few days reading this forum and I decided I need to start from ground up and build it the way I wanted looks and performance wise so far my total money spent is over $5000 and it still has not been used I have lots of mechanical knowledge so it has been just finding what I want and pulling it all together I've made lots of mistakes and have gained a stock of parts I didn't need but good things come to those who wait and I'm finally in my final assembly!!! I have a long way To go but close

OK I have been able to get the remote/rec I wanted and preassembled everything to test everything and program my remote (Jr xg14) and now I'm confused about the motor direction thing I have changed my locker to put ring gear on the right side(pumpkins on driverside) then when I push forward on my remote it goes reverse and forward when I push reverse using the remote I can reverse the stick direction to get it to work correctly but no matter what I do it seems faster in reverse I emailed holmeshobbies and they said

Holding the motor in your hand, with the output shaft pointing down, rotate the can until the "0" mark faces you. In this orientation, the negative endbell contact should be on the right in normal forward timing. If the motor is reverse timed, it will be 180 degress opposite of this.

Doing this I see my neg wire on the right side of mark so it seems I have a cw motor ?????
I have read the tech posts on this and put locker in like the picture shows but it is faster in reverse
Can someone help I'm confused and not sure I'm not getting the concept or is the complexity of my remote programming confusing me

Try recalibrating your TX to the esc. You may have had the motor direction swtch in wrong position.

Change from the position it is in and follow the recalibrating process. The ESC will pick up forward (green lights) then reverse (red light) then neutral.

If switching motor direction and recalibrating does not work it may be a bad RX or TX (if results don't change after recalibration try a different rx)

It sounds like your motor has some degree of timing advance so it'll spin faster in its preferred "forward" direction. The solution unless you want to mess with reversing the timing is to swap the sides for your ring gears.

OK so I've recalibrated ESC to my tx and have my tx throttle switch set to normal operation when I press forward on throttle I have a green light on my ESC and truck still goes in reverse I notice the hh ESC manual says to reverse the motor wires if this happens
???? Will doing this fix my issue or and will it effect motor negatively in anyway
!!!!!!Thanks for the help !!!!!!!!

Just tried rtr tx/rx and tx throtte switch in "n" position and same results forward makes go in reverse and faster in reverse

I know its something simple I'm not doing the actual work my sons helping do the wrenching cause my arms all messed up but I'm supervising and reading to many posts on motor direction has me confused

You want your radio in REV, reprogram the ESC. IF the motor still rotates faster in reverse, simply switch the motor wires. No harm will come!

Yep been spending for over a yr finally getting to see it coming together maybe comp rig after this one

Does switch wires effect how I should time motor currently I have it timed at 6° I'm not doubting you I just want to understand what I'm missing so I clearly understand the concept of motor direction/timing I'm new to rc's and have a lot to learn

I thought I understood it but when we plugged in battery to check everything before the first "final assembly" but everything worked opposite of what we expected????

Again thanks for all the great help
