Anybody else been having issues with USPS these past few months?

I've had one package to totally MIA, another spent nearly 2 weeks traveling around Cali before it left the state and headed my way, and another item took a week and a half to go three states over.

I always ship Priority w/delivery confirmation just to make me feel good about it, but even that option is getting a little sketchy...I used to be able to track packages day-to-day, now I only get an "it left here" and an "it arrived here".

Time to go FedEx or UPS?

last few personal packages I've sent have taken 3 days for one and 9 days for the other

USPS tracking is a joke. Even if you do "insure" it... and it goes MIA, you can't prove it with your "tracking".

But I've had no issue shipping the past few times.

It used to be fairly good. That package from Cali was actually entertaining to track. Every couple of days it would be at a new postal hub. It must have visited half a dozen stops before it finally crossed the state line. Right before it did, I checked its location and it said "Oops! We've misrouted your package! Its on its way to you now!"

Ever since then I've never been able to really "track" a package...

Richmond, California seems to be the "black hole" for my packages, both sending and receiving. It only takes a day or two for packages to reach there from anywhere in the country but then they sit there for 2 to 3 weeks if it's Parcel Post. I have no idea why USPS keeps stating Parcel Post is 2-9 days but when you try to file an insurance claim they tell you it can take up to a month. I've never received a Parcel Post package in under 10 days and on average they take 3 weeks. I think they hold the packages on purpose just so folks pay the extra for Priority.

The packages have came in less than a week but man does the tracking suck! UPS isn't fast either

not a problem for me. i have ordered from cali and it was here in 3 days, new york 2 days. i am in florida. i just sent a pakage to indiana and it was 3 days. all sent usps priority w/tracking.

maybe you need to sacrifice another chicken to the postal gods.

I sent a package a week ago.The delivery confirmation still doesn't even show as a valid number.:-(
For the most part,I haven't had any problems but, this one has me worried.

USPS is terrible. Their customer service is non-existant, their employees are terrible and their "tracking" system sucks.

....and they wonder why they are losing money....

I had one package delivered for over a week and the Delivery Confirmation # still said invalid number.....I emailed the receiver just to very that they got it.

USPS seemed to have a chance against the FedEx and UPS...

Then all of a sudden they are back to suck again. They have to work on their tracking...just have to. It's a failure and does no one any good.

I've still had good luck with them, buying. But as a seller I can not accept their problems and always ship UPS now.

usps is awesome compared to ups or purolator.

no hidden brokerage fees and it shows up in your mail box. not at your door (who is hoem during a weekday seriosuly that makes no sesne)

Purolator? Don't they make air and oil filters?

I'm home during the weekdays...and if I'm not, someone else is. USPS leaves packages by the door all the time if no one answers the door anyway...same as UPS.

Same here. If it doesnt fit in my mailbox, then it sits in the same spot that UPS or FedEx drops packages....next to my door.

Also, if I order something that isn't easily replaced, I have it sent to my office..."thumbsup"

I just recently had my mail lady leave me a note in the box that tells me that from now on I need to schedule for package pickup no matter how few of them or how small they are. If it's not a stamped letter...I needed to schedule for a pickup.

That's BS. I have a large mailbox, and I have at times left 3 or 4 priority boxes to go out. Now they want me to schedule for pickup? This means that all my packages will lose a day to any buyers since I have to schedule the pickup a day in advance.

I had a padded envelope go out with some rod ends in it headed East to someone...and a week later was wondering where it was since the "tracking" had yet to change. Communicating back and forth with the buyer, I didn't know what to tell him. After about another week, I received my envelope back inside a USPS envelope. Said something like "whoops" My envelope had been ripped to shreds and the rod ends were of course gone. I called my local post office and found out they had never left my own town before the package was damaged. I asked if I could come down and check the floor around the machines for my rod ends...:ror: They declined ;-)

Seriously, who has a mail box to fit a erevo box in?

I'm always sending PM's to people I'm dealing with asking if they received it yet. 90% of the stuff I ship I take to PostNET and they pack it and ship it for me. Much easier that way, but not always the cheapest.

Living where I do, I have a mail box much like a housing sub-division would with larger boxes for decent sized packages... but the mail-people will most of the time leave a not asking me to pick it up at the office in town, even if the package is a padded envelope.

That is BS. Sounds like you have a lazy ass mail lady. Around here we can still send out stuff in the mailbox at home without any postage whatsoever, and the mail lady will pay for it and put a bill in our box the next day.

Again, more BS. Not that it got damaged (it happens), but that it took them two weeks to let you know.

no way

according to one of our (best sellers) the post office is the only way to fly. I got left stone cold on a servo that the guy said was shipped and showed delivery confirmation to this addy, However I was 30 miles away at school when it was supposed to be delivered. I spoke with the lady that picked up the mail at the box and laid it on her desk (NO SERVO) went to the post office and they stated (NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WAS DELIVERED TO THE RIGHT ADDRESS) spoke with the seller and he said (OH WELL) spoke with the postmaster NO GUARANTEE again and the sad part is that it could have been sent back to the sender and I would never know!! NOW, paypal said (OH WELL) sellar said (OH WELL) post office said (OH WELL) I said f-it I wanna go postal!!!!!!!!!!!
