Usps ~ fail!?

Well, here where I live, your mail doesn't get delivered to your house. EVERYONE in town HAS to get a P.O. Box... which is BS, because there's only 130 people here (give or take maybe 6 or 7) How long would it take to actually go out and DELIVER the mail in this town, 30 minutes?

Anyway, the USPS sucks... BAD! In the last three years I've had over twenty two items, both that I sent and that were sent to me, just straight disappear. Many of them with tracking #'s.

I had one package that somehow got routed to Afghanistan

And I finally figured out that my stuff was not just "lost".

Because on all the tracking info I would get it would get to the main hub in Omaha and that's where it would disappear.

From there... poof gone.

And I got the same run-around. No one knew where the stuff was, or where it had gone. It's 30 miles from here to Omaha. You want to tell me that with probably only three or four people handling it between there and here that you can't ask these people if they might have seen something? Or maybe see if they STOLE it?

I figured out that somone at that mail depot, or someone in between there and here, has sticky fingers and knows that I get cool stuff in the mail, and was jacking it.

Then about three months ago there was a news story about how the USPS had fired EVERYONE that worked in the Omaha "hub" because of incompetence and theft.

I still have problems with their service, but it's much better now.

I would go with UPS, but they're slower than an Ice age, and there is no local Fedex Drop-off point, so they're out, and DHL folded now.

How long will it be until if you want something delivered safely and on-time it will cheaper and easier to hop in the car and deliver it yourself?
