Vanquish currie rockjock axels

Wonder if vp will get some knuckle weights for these axles. I wouldn't mind some more weight down low.

I got my axle today finally. But very disappointed I won't be able to use the front axle for weeks cause the needed shoulder screws are out of stock all over. I found a site in China but 35$ in shipping it just to much for 3$ screws lol I wish vanquish could supply the screws to. After all the axle cost a lot and I they raised the price 4$ just so the could include the screws I wouldn't mind cause now I have a nice paper weight.

Are these the screws that connect the knuckles to the axle on the steering axis?
What size screw is needed?

It's a m3 shoulder screw like stock and its the vp knuckles not the currie housing that forces that. You can use any scx2 knuckle.

Thanks. So to clarify the VP knuckles require the Axial screws (part AX31403), but if I get the SSD knuckles the required fitting screws are included?

Johan_Eriksson, I think this is a better choice that you can order now.

1/10 Axial SCX10 II Jeep Cherokee Stainless Steel King Pin Screw for GPM Knuckle, and yes they are the same size as the stock screws part AX31403

I already got my screws but I will order a set just in case. These also seem to be stainless and I'm sure axial screws ain't.

Is there any realistic chance that these will be offered in XR width?

Someone at a local shop was telling me that one of the main reason people were doing the XR mod was just for improved steering. Since the AR44 with Universals has improved steering, half the need for XR is gone..? Doesn't seem right to me; But, I am still new to many aspects of this hobby.

I have never looked into XR width before my current project. I want to keep the high pinion AR44 set-up and would like XR width... not full AR60. Seeing as VP made the OG axles in XR width, I'm wondering if these will also be offered in XR or not.

I hope I'm not overly annoying since I have asked this elsewhere. I just don't quite understand why some questions like this go unanswered when a simple yes, no, likely or I can't say (which means yes) from an insider or manufacturer rep shouldn't hurt anything. I'm still green and obviously still have a lot to learn about the ins and outs of this hobby relating to marketing and manufacturing trends. But, most importantly, my questions are sincere. I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to figure things out and learn.

I'm hoping either VP or SSD puts AR44 type axles out in XR width. For my hard body build, I'd actually consider dropping the coin on some Rock Jocks which I never thought I'd do.

I imagine vp is looking into doing it. Currently though beef tubes is offering a xr width stock housing.

Beef tube offers a functional option but, it leaves much to be desired visually due to the showing brass extensions. I am a fan of Beef Tube products but, I am hoping for something a little more realistic for this build.

SSD may be releasing offset tubes for the Pro44 axles. It might be assumed that a combination of long side tubes may get one close to XR width; However, they haven't given any real info either.

Steering angle is the same as xrmod. So there is no need for that though.

I'd like the added width. I'm building a class 3 and it would be nice to have wide axles with the smaller ring and pinion.

You can buy AR60 width axles with the AR44 size ring and pinion from Xtra Speed and Deadloc. I just prefer to use higher quality stuff. If nothing else I suppose I could buy the darn things and trash all the internals.

I'm hoping that SSD releases long tubes for their Pro44 axles. Doesnt seem like it would be too difficult for him to do.

3) I don't see many (or any) vehicles with the grey colored axles. Is there a specific reason people are buying the black or silver other than maybe being more popular colors?

Not sure about the other things with the Rock Jocks since I have F9s but one thing about the color is you can get knuckles from other brands that match the silver and black finishes while only the Vanquish knuckles match the grey. Not everyone likes the fit (or the price) of the Vanquish knuckles.

May I suggest SSD knuckles? ;-)

I have a set of RockJocks on the way for a Honcho based build. I see the SSD knuckles mentioned here a lot. So do I just need to look for SSD knuckles for SCX10II? Also, I'm planning to use components from the Honcho AR44 axles that do not incorporate the lock-out design. Can I swap all of the parts or will I need to order more parts to complete my axles?

Not sure if you seen this or would be something you would be interested in but xtra speed is making a ar60 axle with scx10II gears in it

Thanks for the heads up. I should look a little deeper into these; However, my initial thoughts are that I like the XR width being wider than stock but still narrower than these. Also, I don't want the servo on the axle for aesthetics on this build if I can help it.
