I have a question for all RCC vendors, when you bought your first blue star did you already have a line of products to sell or did you buy your star before having a line to offer?
Did you buy a star to just be able to feel out the market before starting to produce parts?
Thanks in advance for any input. "thumbsup"

At the time,I didn't have a line of parts.Just some that I made for a personal build that people wanted to buy.
Things went down hill form there.:lmao::lmao:
If you have something that people want,it's worth it to buy the star.If you can't commit the time, don't bother.Whichever you choose, don't try to hide it.You will get caught.:flipoff:

I just got my star.

Thing is you can't do much without a star. Can't feel, can't sponsor, cants advertise or sell.

If you are serious about it buy a star.

My products are in the works. Then I bought a star. Now when the products come in I will be ready.

I bought my blue star just because I feel I've saved and made enough money thru the classifieds I thought id give back.. Plus I'm somewhat a fabricator and if someone needs something built I can build it for them without getting a infraction.. I also have a big inbox that I dont have to clean out three times a week anymore:) mainly I just wanted to give back some.. Thanks rcc

I got a star, built my website, and incorporated the biz before anything else was done. I wasn't planning to just run it for a few years though, it was an investment for the long term.

I'm in the process of getting a blue star and I don't have a line of products as of yet, just one for now....my parts maker just ordered material to make my winch parts so they can be made and sent to me for final assembly and sale....so I can only say what I'm going to do, I do have a few other product ideas as well "thumbsup" ........bob

I had no idea that doing this was an infractionable event.

If you're advertising your services without a vendor star it is. If it's private, then nothing happens, but word of mouth usually gets people in trouble.

And always remember:

No, I've had a few people ask me to build things for them and I have. What about if I supply a part that a star carrying vendor sells, this seems like a grey area to me, I'd rather not be on the wrong side of it.

That has been done here before. The way it was explained to me, is that person can provide tech and information, but can not discuss price or sales. Only the Vendor can do that.

I'm not sure if this policy is still in effect though, so your best bet is to ask a mod before believing me

Essentially you can't discuss pricing and sales, nor can you use the site to generate sales for yourself without a vendor star. If you are supplying other vendors with labor or parts, ensure the transactions don't happen on the site and you won't have to worry.
