Venture SBK - Scale Builder Kit

I really like mine but the lack of aftermarket support has been frustrating. Combine that with my limited fabrication abilities, and I think I am going to be forced to purchase a SCX10.2 slider for my next project which is to bring this body out of retirement:

What's your concern? Other than the lack of cvd's/universals I've found everything I've wanted..

For me, also, the two main detractors are 1. Dog bone axles and 2. Limited bumpers/adapters (for aftermarket bodies).
I'm tired of having to make 3 point turns to get around various obstacles, particularly this root-laden tree in our little backyard area. With my Ascender, or other cvd/universal equipped rigs, I can encircle the tree pretty tightly by just locking the wheels.

I'm a week away from closing on a home purchase, and need to pare down my RC collection, so the Venture may be on the cutting block, unless I get an email notification regarding universal axle availability.

Cool that they dropped the price, but in the end... at least for me. I went with the RTR when eBay had their coupons. I planned to run a FJ body anyway, and it would've costed me just as much as the RTR to get a clear body with body details on top of the SBK when it was at $250.

Have you had a chance to try it out yet? If so what are your thoughts. Been thinking about getting the SBK. I already have a clear body and a couple items ready to go for a build.

Also what color did you get???

Well. I wasn't going get the SBK. I was just put gonna the universals in my fully upgraded rtr.

But at that pre-order price, I couldn't NOT get one.

Now the wait begins.. Hopefully HPI manages this release better that they did the initial one..

Haven't had a chance yet. Had an influx of 3 new trucks these past few months from taking advantage of ebay coupons lol. I bought the gray version. I've already bought links and knuckle weights + c-hubs. Outside of that, electronics, and the usual tire/wheel change, I don't think I'll be doing much.

Those are good upgrades, and pretty much the sum of all that the RTR needs, with the inclusion of the still-unavailable CVD's. I have those same items on mine, and it's now a reliable performer...aside from the limited steering. Really is a fun little wheeler, which is why I haven't let it go, yet.

How did I forget that! Yes, I got the CVD's too.

I'm in at $200, especially since I have plenty of items laying around to complete it. We'll see which is available first, a venture kit we've known about for months, or a redcat gen8 kit that currently only exists in my wishlist.

ive got the cvds on order for my rtr but they sold out before i got mine filled. Maybe next round....

what links knuckles and c-hubs are yall running?

Hmmm... This might be suitable for my next hardbody build. Is the kit released yet? Would be nice to see some reveiws of the kit.

It's been released, but availability has been inconsistent. Several people have them but I haven't seen a thorough review on it yet.

I have been trying to find a kit. Release date was scheduled for today but had bee pushed out till February 15.

If kits were released before today I haven't seen any pop up for sale

RPP has also dropped the price to $199 and pushed out the ETA to 2/17

I was just assuming off of the dates they were previously showing that maybe Amain messed up and didnt order soon enough.

I ordered one from Amain thinking "well I can wait and the discount is worth it" but now we can all wait and get the discount. Hopefully they refund the $50 to those who ordered before the price drop.
