Impressions:

I have been very impressed with the performance of the Vertical Smile chassis so far! Other members of RCC have driven the truck as well, and were also very impressed with it's performance and stability. The curved skidplate worked well, but occasionally did allow the truck to get hung up on the front edge. Due to this, the production version will be sold with a flat cut bottom and delrin skidplate to make the bottom as slick as possible.

Looks great! I was wondering what knuckles are those? I picked up a NN yesterday and was interseted in replacing the stockers w/ alum. ones. Thanx.;-)
 
The front's are RC4WD's. The rear blue ones I am unsure about. GPM maybe?

EDIT: I just researched them- The front silver ones are RC4WD's Advanced Knuckles. The blue ones are their original version.

I didn't even notice the two different ones:shock: ! The blue ones are the ones I was wondering about. The rc4wd ones are the only ones I have been able to find though. Thanx man! Again nice build!;-)
 
Sweet build and test footage (vid). your imput on my test was invaluable and well apreciated.
Just to let everyone know there are still two available for $40. I had one guy back out so his loss is your gain.
I like the fact that you are using it as comp crawler let us know how it works out.
 
Looking good, pretty sweet pictures of the comp. How did you do in the comp?

I did bad.:evil: Lost a drive pin on the 3rd gate of course1, and then broke the axle on the opposite side just before gate 4. Then I couldn't get the axlehousing to come apart to fix it.:roll:

I think that the Clod is the best platform for the VS. It's a large chassis and the Clod seems to fit it well! Congrats Double J. Looks like you have a winner on your hands!:mrgreen:
 
the southern run were and when? I do like the chasis, but where do get the upper mount for the links.
 
Just to let everyone know. The production chassis will have more mounting options and the skid has been flattened out with only a .08" curve to the bottom (hardly noticable). I also have some extensions (optional) if you want to move the shocks over the axles more, giving it more adjustability. This option can also be located at mulitple points on the chassis.
With more link and shock mounting optoins and the flattened skid area the performance will be much better.

The day after the BDB2 comp, Destroyer let me drive the VS and I must say I am very impressed with the stability of the rig. If his drive pin hadn't come out during his first run, I'm sure he could have placed very well in the final course. Especially since his rig was one of the few who could manuever the first gate of the last course with ease.
 
The body is actually off of an Associated MGT. I just cut up the stock stickers to make it look kinda like a Ram.
