Video editing

i was wondering if there are any how to videos of how to do video editing. all i have is windows movie maker and am having trouble getting my footage off my comp and uploading it yet alone editing it. should i get different software? is there easier software out there? thanks for any advice.

The Windows Movie Maker is about as basic and simple as it gets.

What are you having problems with?

One thing people screw up on is not telling it to complile the movie once you have it put together. Until you do that it is stored as a movie project, which is not playable by anything but WMM and I don't think Youtube will allow you to upload it.

i downloaded the video from my disc to my documents. i can get it to play on windows media player but everytime i try and put it into movie maker it only plays 12 seconds then its done. i have to be missing something cause i feel like a complete idiot lol
