Voltage regulators!

The mamba 25 wont put out a whole lot of BEC power. With a 3 cell lipo you will have next to no amperage available. I would suggest the Cool BEC since it is switching. You can then use the mamba 25 with powerful servos to your hearts desire.

Thanks John,

Great information I would have thought the Mamba 25 would not handle the lipos "thumbsup"

I appreciate the time and effort you put in to sharing your vast knowledge with so many of us.

Looks like the Castle BEC is now up on the site, however I get an error if I click "buy now".

I guess its not quite yet available!

Do you have to unplug the castle bec from the battery everytime you use it, or is there something I'm missing? When it is plugged in, the receiver has power and I can hear my servo without having the esc turned on.

Am I doing something wrong?
Other than that, this thing works great"thumbsup"

Yes, you will have to uplug the REG from the battery to shut off the system

Is this an issue? Or do I just have to make sure to unplug the battery when the ESC cuts out.

The voltage cutoff really isn't an issue, since it is getting tripped under load. Once the motor isn't turning the voltage will creep back up, just unplug everything right there. If you want to be extra safe use 3.1 or 3.2 volts per cell cutoff.

Sorry but kind of a noob when it comes to electronics. Right now in my super I am making some big changes in the electronics. It will be a Mamaba Max, Traxxas reciever, TQ3 with rear steer mod, dual 5955 Hitecs, either a 10T Puller or some type of Scorpien, and something like 3500mah-4500mah 7-10 cell nimh bats. I would also like to use a voltage reg. But I have no clue how they work or what they do or witch one would work best for my needs in my super. All help is very appriciated!

ThanX,
Krystopher

use the bec instead of a receiver pack, the castle bec is great its programable "with xtra program" it solders on to your battery leads from the esc, and plugs in to your receiver

I have to ask the question...I didn't think you could run 5955 Hitecs with a TQ3 because the hitec is digital. Info I got was the it would eventually burn the servo up.

You can run a hitec on a tq3 if the servo isn't binding or traveling too far. A radio with end point adjustment would be better suited for the servo, but careful linkage adjustment can work too.

Interference to servo

I'm trying to run one of the Castle BEC's with my Mtroniks Viper SSR speed control and get extreme interference.

I have noticed that the slow speed control is nowhere near as smooth as when running the ESC's BEC.

I also suffer from the steering servo glitching like mad.

If I run it through a Tekin Rebel 2 I do not have these issues.

It makes no difference if I run on 7.2 or 9.6V. The motor turns also make no difference.

I want to run the SSR's as they have zero reverse delay and give 100% reverse as well as forwards power.

Any idea what the problem could be

sir, could you please answer a ?i want to order a castle bec. i was wondering if the hs81mg can handle 6v input for very long?im going to order your 333oz steering servo soon so im wanting that voltage setting.Just dont want to burn up the hs81 i the meen time.

Im runin
65 lathe
rooster crawler esc
7 cell 2/3a
2 3305 futaba's
1 hs81mg

The hs81 can handle 6v just fine. If you are using it for a dig or shifting servo just make sure it doesn't bind up anywhere in the travel. That will burn up any servo.
