Volvo S70 Wagon

Uncommon down time at work. Sketching out my thought on building floor as well as servo mount. Don't try to read it, I just thought it was funny. Looked like the plans Coyote always got from Acme.

You're kidding, right? Servo was that easy to mount? Be fooled if you will, but that dude is solid. Cool!

Just working out flooring and interior spacing. I'm leaning towards using the rear hatch to stash the electronics. Maybe just really detail the cabin and just box off the rear hatch area. You know how in a hatch back you can pull the cover over the hatch, thinking make it look like that from the top.

This is my first interior other than the Winnebago. It was already laid out. This may take a while.

p.s., this is with the chassis tucked underneath. Still have to work out chassis mount to body. DDK made for some serious interior room.

Nice updates. Curious to see how well that servo mount works out for you. Much easier than having to fab or buy a bracket to chassis mount it. I think the idea of hiding everything in the hatch should work just fine.

I really think the servo will work out. I put a spacer between the chassis rail and the servo. It's very snug. Wasn't that I wasn't willing to buy one, it's that with the Dinky gear reduction unit, most CMS kits that I've seen won't work. We'll see what happens.

Loving this build bro! I just burned one reading and looking at this entire thread! Definitely subing this one.....

Current floor plate is aluminum. It'll be replaced with a steel plate. I'm afraid once the body is mount to the aluminum floor, it might not hold up to any twisting. The "main" floor pan will be steel, the rest will be aluminum. Gaps will be filled in. Door panels will be made to cover a lot. This is just mock up for now. Trying to find my heading.

It looks really nice! What size is that body? Is it the same size as a 1/10 touring car body? :)

Made the permanent floor out of 26ga. Also used the plate to make the mounts for body to chassis.

Next on the list to do;

Use the aluminum plate to form the hatch area.

Work on the inner fenders.

Start interior.....

Just seeing how much needs to fit in the hatch. It's doable. Goal will be neatness once it all goes in for real.

No more weight up front. Wait tell you pick this thing up. Very nose heavy. That GR7, motor, metal gears,,,, it's a tank up front.

Will have rear seat. Back of seat will be back of hatch area. In that pic of electronics, there is a 2800 hidden in that mess.

Cool build man and pass that ish my way dean! Are you going to keep the perriwinkle blue, or duplicate the 1:1?

It'll get painted. Not sure on color. I'll have to fill the hole in the roof. By time the body works down, might as well paint it all.
