VP builders kit

Great deal if you like the chassis. Definitely tempting. I just know I'd end up pulling the axles for something else and I'd end up with another chassis stacked in my closet, taking up space.

I do like the chassis, but I'll probably end up doing the same. Everything, but the chassis may get used. And I already have 2 other complete VP chassis' hanging on the wall not being used!

Damn... I remember talking about wanting the Phoenix kit without the body... And now that it's here I told myself I wouldn't buy another kit until I finished my current ones. Fml.

That's funny, I told myself the same. No more new rigs this year until I finish what I have started! PERIOD!!!

BUT, hard to beat when you add up the items separately! It was in and out of my cart more times than I can remember.

You know what you gotta do now!:lmao:

Hard to resist the temptation…

After reading the description a few times, it sounds like they are simply bundling all the individual kits together, chassis, axles, shocks, etc and selling for a ridiculous discount.

I think I’ll hold out for now, and hope they offer the same but with straight axles.

I’d honestly pay the same price for a straight axle version, with standard vfd, and regular stainless links.

So since I don't own a Vanquish yet and the straight axles are available, I caved and bought the kit. But it's definitely not gonna get built until probably next year. I'm super lagging on my builds.

Definitely understand that feeling. My bench consists of 3 bare chassis, another one waiting on its rear axle and a suburban waiting for its 82nd coat of primer.

And yet, I still want one of these[emoji2357]

I don't 100% see the allure of the builder's kit. I recently bought a straight axle kit, and sold the body within a day for $120. So my kit was $10 cheaper than the builder's kit. When I sell the tires (I sold the wheels+tires off of my portal in a few weeks for about 50 bucks) I'll be well ahead of the builder's kit price.

While that's all a solid win on flipping those unneeded parts, compared to other valued builder's kits, this should stand out for those in the market.

I picked up a straight axle Phoenix kit when they arrived at my LHS. It's still in the box. I think it's too soon for me to buy another...:ror:

I didnt really need another, but done it anyway lol. Ive got a partial build sittin on the bench using one of the chassis i got frome twade. N im gathering parts to build a 4ws rig using a set of twades 4ws rails. To many projects n not enuf money, wats a guy to do?

this is all great and I agree with you but sometimes your time (shipping and driving around) is not really worth the struggle, specially if you have multiple things going on with life you know. Some of us see the potential in the way you see it, just dont have the time to sit on things and wait for them to sell and go around. Believe me there is a lot of spare parts (RCs and Motorcycle's) stashed away in the garage. :lmao: that are not necessarily going or are planned to be used on my own projects.

Me too and I'll probably give in to that too!:lmao: I gotta a feeling we will see that sometime in the future. That would be a hot seller!

Nice and congrats!"thumbsup" I hope your stronger than me. It's hard to look at a VP kit box and not want to build it immediately!:lmao:

Watching your latest noname Phoenix straight axle build vids is what actually changed my mind to order the VP bundle kit. I've enjoyed watching these vids and look forward to watching it compete at the canyon!

When has that ever stopped us!!!!:lmao::lmao:

Me either, but the pressure to buy was to great!:lmao: Congrats!

So witch model would this be in there line up?

This is basically the phoenix portal without the body, wheels, tires, n bumpers. Well worth the money though. May pick up a couple more down the road, so long as they dont discontinue them

How long did it take to receive it?

5 days from west coast to east coast. Orders usually arrive quicker than that from VP, but Fed Ex decided to screw with the ship dates! Was scheduled to arrive on 11/4, then delayed to 11/7 and then it surprisingly arrived on Saturday 11/5.

Who twisted whos arm this time twade? Mwahahahaha

Yeah, its usually a 3 day ride from cali to bama. Unless fedex pulls some bullcrap like brian mentioned

I caved and ordered one too…

Don’t feel bad, it happens to the best of us![emoji28] Congrats!

Funny thing is my second order from VP for the trans parts were ordered a day later than when I ordered the bundle kit. The trans parts shipped USPS and arrived a day earlier than the bundle kit! Fed Ex has issues![emoji43]*[emoji94]

Since I live less than an hour away from them, it took mine a few days haha.

Being that close, it's too bad they don't have a pickup service.

I'm sure though that would cause a whole other set of problems for them since they are a small company.
