What are some good 2.4ghz radios with a 3 position 3rd channel?

I know about the Spectrum DX3R it's clearly a popular choice for crawling.

But are there any similar radios out there?

I guess I'm having a hard time spending more on a radio than I will on my first truck kit. LOL.

Nomadio React, 4 channl, fully adjustable on ALL Channels, has built in 4WS profile. 260 and free shipping at Davesmotors.

Dude no offense but do you work for Nomadio or what?

I'm only been on this site a few days and I've already noticed that you're pushing this radio in every thread you can.

when you find something that WORKS!, and WORX well, and doesnt cost 450.00 you want to share the love.

Find someone that has and uses one.

ive had spektrums, and ive had MAJOR ISSUEs with them as have ALOT of the folks i know that use them. ive seen 2 grand 1/5th scale rigs tuned into a pile of parts due to Spectrums.

Futabas are great, but cost to much imho. teh React does everything these radios do and more, for less cost.

4pk! or 3pk u wont look back....

Thanks I'll check those out.

If you're balking at the price of a DX3R, you'll flip when you see the tag on a 4PK :)

For the money, there is no better radio than the DX3R right now. It can run a dig or it can run 4WS if you want.

The DX3 (not the DX3.0) is nice for 4WS, but if I recall, it can't be set up to run a fully functional dig without modification.

Nomadio's radios work well, but the transceivers can be hard to find and I believe they're rather spendy.

The DX3R is backwards compatible with the older non-DM2 Spektrum receivers which are a dime-a-dozen and can be found on the second-hand market for around $50.

Thanks K_B. The dx3r does seem like the setup to get and I'm not afraid to spend money on quality stuff.

I guess it's the thought of buying my first crawler and such an expensive radio at the same time that has my wallet scared. LOL.

I know the feeling. But the radio is almost like an heirloom. Crawlers come and go, but the radio lasts forever :) Same goes with servos. Always a good idea to buy high quality electronics.

For what it's worth, I just saw a Nomadio REACT in the classifieds and it comes with Spektrum receivers. And he clearly states that it works with Spektrum. So that's a plus in the Nomadio column.

yes, you can run the older speky rxs, the SR3000 and the SR3100, to work with the Reacts. im not sure if it will control the newer speky rxs though. you just need to be sure you have the correct software update from Nomadio to use the speky rx modules.

DX3R seems to be the best out right now since sliced bread very user friendly
Only because it's more widely available than the React....
I run a React with my 2.2 comp crawler and my Losi 1.9 (with OEM receiver). Nothing is easier than hooking it up to my laptop and assigning each key to do what I want it to do.
You have to "downgrade" the React to work with Spektrum receivers:lol:

The Airtronics MX-3 FHSS is also a good value in a 3 channel 2.4 ghz setup, although the 3rd channel switch is 2 position instead of 3.
