Right now I am using the red springs from my Tmaxx, and preloaded the hell out of the shocks to make up for the height difference between these and the stock Grey springs.

The suspension is MUCH softer now, but I would like to know if there are better aftermarket shocks on the market. The caps on the stock ones pop constantly.

if you use t maxx shocks...... drill a hole through the cap of the shock and screw on a threaded rod end. this will make the shock a little longer and give the shock more movement without popping the cap off when your car is flexing. i have losi aluminum threaded shocks sitting in my tool box but still havnt switched out my t maxx shocks. im running a full droop suspension wiht axial shafts with internal springs in the t maxx shocks. my ride height is at 2.25"

Losi Crawler Shocks w/ T-Maxx progressive springs."thumbsup" Progressive springs do nothing for crawling, they are just stiffer. These shocks are butter smooth.....

We machined the top mounting ears off mine then drilled and tapped the top and installed Traxxas eyelets in place of the ears. They seem to be smoother with no binding at the top mount.

...Is that just literally as simple cutting off the cap mount, then drilling a hole, and running a screw/bolt from the inside, out and into a rod end? I'm trying to figure out how to get a bit more standing height out of my stock shocks in droop, and I reckon that might solve it for me, if that's how it's being done.

Thanks!
