What AWG wire

I want to build a custom battery pack at Cheapbatterypacks.com and don't know what AWG wire to get. I want to run 6 Elite 1500 cells
 
16 is plenty. Crawlers dont draw hordes of power. You could even get away with 18 easily if your super anal about weight.
 
These trucks are pulling no more than 4 to 5 amps max. 10, 12 and even 14 guage is over-kill and added weight. 16-18 guage is enough to do the job and keep the weight down.
 
Pretty much what was allready said above.

Just try to match the gauge wire that is allready on your esc.
 
Keep in mind that you'll need to solder the wire ends to your battery plug (i.e., your female Deans, assuming that's what you're running). I find even 12 gauge is a pain to solder on the one terminal as there's very little room to work with (assuming you solder them on the sides of the terminals Dean's recommends). I usually use 13 or 14 gauge for flexibility and less needed room on your battery plug.
 
18 or 16 awg is more than enough. Anything bigger on a crawler is just silly. I use 16 on every crawler I have built... Go with 16 and DO NOT get the upgrare. It is a pointless add on for a crawler. Save yourwelf the $$

I guess that depends on setup, a single High torque servo can draw up to 2.5 amps, so if you were running a super with two high torque servos, that would be around 5 amps if they were both bound up. Add the power from the motor and you could easily see up to 10 amps total. personally I like to match or exceed the size that is on the speed control. my .02

Not always true, every crawler is different. While 16awg will work well all around, I have data logged my crawling and there are amp bursts of 30 amps or higher even with a 55t motor on 6 cells. A nicer motor can pull more amperage, I have a few that will burn up 80-100 amps with a good sub-C pack.

I stick to 14 or 12 awg wire. Generally I grab the 13 awg for a balance of light weight and current handling.
