I've got this cool old 1972 Mercedes 0309D, and it's going to get a Krylon rattle can paint job soon. I'm leaning toward OD with Black wheels and accessories, and red hubs. But there are SO MANY cool Krylon colors, now I cant decide.

Here's my bus: (It's getting wheels and tires, and I'm doing the body work/priming now)

I like ths "Hosta Leaf" green, especially paired with off-white.

If I paint it glossy, then I canb keep the chrome on the bus. If I go military, the chrome will be black.

So post up with your favorite scheme from ANY car. I want to paint it something cool!

Thanks,
Ryan

You can also get showroom quality paint job with Rustoleum paint (in the quart and gallon cans), lots of wetsanding and polishing. Basically you roll the paint on thick and wet sand the hell out of it to smooth it.

That van has a huge amount of surface area, any one color is just going to look like a wall of color coming at you. There's a few natural body lines in the side and the bigger body crease in the middle, use them to add a 2nd color into the mix.

Yeah, I agree! I'd like to put a stripe of a second color on the side.

I'd do a cool wrap, but it's too much munnies!

Ryan you sure have some wierd but cool shit.... Id paint it up like ted nugents bronco... Mu son says paint up like the vans off the wall bus with a rock crawl course inside..

That bus is cool! What are your plans for it,work vehicle or recreation?I think two tone is the way to go.I don't think using rattle cans on something so big would be cost effective. That many cans would add up quick and your index finger will fall off before your done.I would look into buying paint by the gallon and getting a cheap spray gun to shoot it with.I recently painted the backhoe attachment on my Ford tractor and found some good industrial paint at Napa.Tractor supply has it as well.Good luck and keep us up to date on the progress."thumbsup"
