What did you do today?

Hit the MR2 with the pressure washer, came out pretty nice. Got a lot of the old mold and moss off, although a couple tiny chips of paint came off in the process. It'll be fine though, the paint isn't the best anyway and I can just cover it up with touchup paint later.

Today I went out to our RV for the last time; I sold it! We had a family who was highly, highly interested so I spent the day cleaning, pressure washing and the like. Just as I loaded the last thing in my truck they showed up, perfect timing!
While it is sad to see TTTimmy go, we weren't using it. Our dogs weren't really welcome which was an issue and it is nice to no longer have a secondary place to pay for, maintain, etc. Plus we can spread that money out across some debts and get closer to par, again. Happy days

Rad you own an AW11! One of the cars I'm neglecting is AE86 GTS coupe. It can still drive but it burns a ton of oil and needs a support bearing for the driveshaft.

Today, I thanked our Founding Fathers here in 'Merica" for having the balls of Real Men and not most of todays men. lol
Otherwise, We'd still be under King Chuck...
dodged a Big Bullet there so huge Thank You to our FFs.

Otherwise, I had to run to town to put some water in our pool at work, as it was low and I forgot to do it Thursday. So I took the USA TrumPromoto and ran some Super laps around a make shift track in and out of the islands in the parking lot of the Jr College next door. no pics or vids. Got 2 packs in and 1/2 the front tire was unglued again. Time to clean and reglue.

Otherwise it was just a nice chill day.

Sweet, I love those old Corollas. Also that's the old Toyota life lol, if you ain't burning oil it's leaking somewhere instead lmao (or both). Mine's leaking a little bit from the oil pan because the gasket needs to be replaced.

A friend of mine growing up had a slammed black 86. He sold it after a few years, I wanted to buy it so bad but my Dad said no way.
To be fair it was probably way rougher mechanically than I remember but damn was it sweet.

Wheels were very similar but smaller diameter. Had a set of sweet Cooper Cobra Radial GTs on it.

I purchased a 2000's Corolla 5 SPD as a work beater a handful of years ago. That thing was pretty epic. Yes the 1.8L burned some oil, but it was zippy!
I polished the headlights, aligned them because they were way off, then focused on performance LOL
First, I relocated the battery to the trunk.
I made a custom cold air intake for it out of PVC furnace venting and a replacement filter for I believe a Dodge pickup. I wrapped it in black tape for stealth reasons. It was hilarious!

Everything was gravy for a while until I money shifted it one day heading to work. Blamo.
It was sad because it was so much fun! I forgot what it was like to have a car that I could "let my hair down" sort of speak. Park anywhere and not a care in the world. I even taught people how to drive stick in it.

Meet, The Knuckler

What I did today; wrenches on a few projects and hung out with my wife and kiddo :)

I had a girlfriend in HS, "plutonic relationship" that had a 85 or 86 Ae GTS while we were kids, living in Germany. That thing ripped like a MOFO, and only had 85K, IIRC doin over 140+ in it once circa 1996-8. She ended up with child, and trading that for a Pathfinder.

Drove 112 miles to the property to do some work. A few past Garlicbronco's place I guess, and turned a ford ranger into a convertible. Dug a grave for the shell after cutting the frame off at the rear of the cab, and sawing the tank in half with a chainsaw, yeah. Ran out of cut off discs, 10 or more total. The rear of the frame was burried next to the body, and the roof was placed on top. I'm still going to pull the motor and trans, but once the cab is filled with sand/dirt. Haul that off back to it's original owner! Pic n pull

Someone broke through the gate, and this truck was drug to on the property a few years ago and stripped for parts by a few dudes.

Well it's great to finally get some relief on my route. They took almost 200 boxes off my route on 6-28-25. I get done about 4 instead of 6-7. The sad thing is we don't have enough people and I'm forced to work 6 days week again. I got back today and was asked if I would help carry another route. I responded "no not really" and went home.

Starting the year off with two hospitalizations has left me with not many vacation days. Thankfully, I was able to get away for a long weekend over the 4th of July. My aunt and uncle built a getaway home in upstate NY on the snowmobile and ATV trail system. We went up to stay with them from Thursday until Sunday to play with the toys. Unfortunately, my cousin and uncle had to do some unplanned work on the house. The guy that was contracted to put in the foundation took some shortcuts they had to fix.

The one caliper on the Jeep locked up during a trail run so that sat for most of the weekend. I can't believe he scored that thing in running condition for $900!

I did get to take my girlfriend and her son out on the RZR and Kawasaki Brute Force for some good rips around the trails. It was so fun to be able to just drive the SxS and quad from the house on the roads and around the trail system without a care in the world. And it felt good to go bombing through the woods at 75 MPH although, apparently, when my girlfriend and her son said they wanted to go fast they didn't mean that fast! 😁

My girlfriend's 10-year old son thought he was a big shot because he got to drive this $50,000 tractor. I was proud of him for getting right in it without hesitation. He hasn't been exposed to motorized toys much in his life, but I'm trying to turn him into a motor head.

The old $1000 Cherokee. Before cash for clunkers, and even up until Covid wrecked the car market, those were an easy find any day of the week.

Now everyone wants $2500 for garbage and $5k+ for a decent example.
I love XJs. Had to sell mine when we moved here. It was long armed with 4.5" of lift and 35s. Kinda looking for a clean unmolested one right now. There was a very clean 2001 for sale a couple hours away that really tempted me, but it was a 2wd. I know converting to 4x4 isnt difficult, but I didnt want to have to buy and store a donor to do it.

Our small comp meet yesterday didn't go as planned so the 6 of us just enjoyed the time out with the leftover donuts and chit chat. When we were doing some crawling, my Reefs 900LP decided it wanted to "brown out" I think the term is. It was hot to the touch, and also left it with the battery unplugged in hopes it just got too hot or something. When it happened it wasn't under any kind of stress, just easy test crawling through gates.
As I've got it on the bench now, I discovered it only functions if I help it/apply pressure to the wheel to turn. It's an awesome servo, but I've never had this issue with any other servos. I'll put in a warranty claim.

Direct power servos shouldn't brown out. That's usually a weak bec on a standard rx powered servo.

Ive been curious about those servos since the specs seem pretty darn good but their warranty seems hit or miss from what I have read. Hopefully they take care of it.

Uh oh that's not good to hear about the warranty department lol. Well, if the claim falls through then I guess I'll be putting something else in that's not a Reefs product. It would be awesome if they took care of it for me though because I really love this servo and thought I hit the home run with it, even if it's up there in price.

Also my Triple 7 servo has held up in my Venture, 422 V2 winch as well, and 299LP in my Slash.

Looks like you're using a decent size 3s and a DV8 esc? Id think you should be ok. Seems like 4s was one of their common reasons for denial. That and Rhino ESCs.
