Guys,
Well I have been giving some thought to my next project. I decided to convert my crawler from electric to nitro.
Here are some pictures of the crawler as it is:

The tranny is my own custom setup, so modifying or making an entirely differnt one wouldnt be out of the question. My question is, what nitro motor would work the best for the torque and weight required for my beast?
Matt

O.S. FS 26 or FS 40, in a pull start if you can find them on eBay ($200-300). They are 4 strokes and run at lower RPM's but have much greater torque. THe 26 is the equivalent of a .15, the 40 is the equivalent of a .21 in terms of mounting size. The 26 is still available through tower in a non-pull start version. It will look cool, but won't work as well as a 55t lathe motor.

Adam,
I have crawled it once or twice, but my biggest thing is I hate dealing with batteries. I guess I am to dang cheap to invest in really really good batteries.
It seems like no matter what cars I run of mine that are electric, I get really short run times.
Wanna buy it :) I am in Cincy!

You just need to read up a little here on the site. All you need is a GD-600 gear reduction, either a lathe motor, magnetic mayhem, or Johnson motor, and you will get an hour (or more with lathe motor) of run time. Try that with a nitro.

ya nice crawler

yep gear reduction it is - but your speed will go down but thats not what crawling is about, and what motor is that, that your running?
