I have the new Traxxas 2012 Platinum Edition LCG 4X4 Slash. I will be mounting the TenShock SC411 3500kv motor and HobbyWing SCT Pro 120A esc combo from the funshobby website. I will be using 3S 5000mAh LiPo batteries. I need to know what gearing I should have. I am not looking to get top high speeds. Rather, I want fast acceleration instead.

I will be purchasing Robinson Racing Extra Hard .8 module 5mm bore pinions. What is the lowest number of teeth 32p pinion should I use. In the same note, what is the highest number of teeth 32p pinion should I use. Keep in mind, I'll be running 3S with the SC411 3500kv motor. I want to keep the temperatures as low as possible. Like I said, I don't want top high speeds, but I do want faster acceleration.

In the same subject, what number of teeth 32p spur gear should I use. I don't mind buying several 32p pinion and spur gears with different number of teeth. But, I don't want to purchase something that I won't be using, like really low or really high number of teeth.

All answers would be greatly appreciated.

I like to run 11/54 on my slash with 3900kv on 3s so i would think you could run anywhere from 10t to 13t on your pinion, but i would try the 11t first. great out of the hole acceleration for me on 3s. a 9t is a little to low and will actually overheat it because of overrevving.

thats just my 2c.

How do you like the 3500 motor?

I actually went with another combo. I bought the HOBBYWING XERUN 3656SD KV4000 Sensored Motor & SCT PRO 120A ESC Combo.

Here is the direct link on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOBBYWING-X...racter_Radio_Control_Toys&hash=item1e778a5a61

I'm still waiting for it in the mail.

These are pictures comparing the rotor sizes of these three motors using a digital caliper. HobbyWing 3656SD is farthest to the left, Tekin Pro4 in the middle, and TenShock farthest to the right. The HW 3656SD has the largest rotor size.
