Is it really the general consensus that this site has too many rules that ruin the fun?
I'm not really sure what everyone expects from a site that caters to the hobby of radio controlled trucks. If I joined www.stuntkites.com, I wouldn't be upset if there were no naked women there.

I hear what you are saying. So my response to your stuntkite.com analogy would be why have Chit Chat at all on RCC?
To discuss the random things that DON'T cause the main financial contributor to this site to threaten to stop writing checks. Why should anyone EXPECT to be able to post nearly naked pics on a site like this?

Understand that I am not trying to be a smart ass about this.
My point is not 'Where are all the half naked chics?' Nor do I EXPECT that we should be able to post nearly naked pics.
And by your(and others) argument, there are specific forums out there for people to discuss every subject I've ever seen in RCC Chit Chat.
Regarding this subject, the argument has been brought up a few times by different people on here, including Jason, that this is a Radio Control Rock Crawler forum, and half naked women have no place here. At first it was because of problems with Google. Now it's 'Half naked women don't belong here, so go to a porn site!'(before anyone gets theirs in a bunch, that was not a direct quote from anyone.) Those threads were up for a long time with no complaints until Google complained.
I get it.
So if that is the case, why have Chit Chat? Then we wouldn't have to worry about half naked women, politics, guns, gays, Obama's sons being killed, etc. Then this forum can truly be about Radio Control Rock Crawling.

Actually that's not entirely true. The Porn argument has been going on for a long time by members here. Usually it's by someone who has a kid or their spouse has looked over their shoulder and seen all the avatars. These people bring up their concerns, and have been shot down by everyone else. Personally the threads have never bothered me, but I do understand the point of those who have complained.
Since many people lack the ability to regulate themselves, this may end up being the answer. It would be a sad day if Chit Chat has to be removed, but for me RCC does not run on Chit Chat.
After I saw it made the link, I did :mrgreen:

Which is exactly my point. If the argument is 'This is a RC rock crawling site.', then eliminate Chit Chat and people can go find the political and porn forums themselves.

There's no reason to get rid of an area just because it doesn't pertain to the overall theme of a website. Every website has an 'everyday' type of section.
Plus, I still need to my news and political BS from somewhere...who would I turn to?!

I hear you, I'm just trying to prove a point. As anyone can see, I post 99% in Chit Chat, the rest is browsing the 1.5 forum. What am I going to do, post a "My SCX-10 unboxing video!"?
Chit Chat is a blast. But if this place is about RC rock crawling only, as a few mods and at least one admin that I've seen say that, then walk the walk.
