Hey everyone,

So I need to buy a transmitter/reciever for the LCC . What are my options for the dig(gotta be three position right)? I know that some Futaba's just use a push button for the third channel (can I use that?). What are the choices for a transmitter with a three possition 3rd channel. I was planning on waiting for the Traxxas link 5ch. And use the trade in program on my tq3 to get some money on my new trans/rec. BUT they keep telling me on customer service that they dont know when its comming out on their power up program... DAMN. Well I wouldnt mind going used also. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears.

Thanks,
Ryan

I use the Futaba 3PM-MX... it's not a pushbutton it's the same as all the trim switches on it... works really well.

I use a 4PK but you can use the Futaba 3PKS or 3PMX.
Spektrum has the DX3R and the DX3E.
Airtronics has the M11 series and an equivalent to the Futaba 3PMX, I just can't remember what it is.
KO has the new Euro's which has a 5 position 3rd channel.

I use a Futaba 3pm fm unit, I have just started learning about the radio, and I have had it since July.

It only has a 2 position switch on it for the 3rd channel but with proper programing you can use the 3rd channel switch and the 2nd condition button like a 3 position switch.

You gotta teach me on that one... I have a guy who has a futaba 3pm FM for sale but I was confussed that I couldnt use the 3channel because of the push button. Could someone explain how that works???

Thanks
Ryan

Rear thought it atleast twice. Then if you can get a 3pm at a decent price pick it up, grab an rx pack and some servos and have the thread up and just go throught it.

It takes some time to get it right but it is worth it if you need a decent radio for a good price. Plus 10 model memory dont hurt either.

If the one you are looking at is the FM version you can get NIB hitec rxs made for the 3pm with your choice of crystal anywhere from under $10 shipped to about $20 shipped. Depends who is bidding on them at the time.

There is a thread somewhere about how to set it up for the LCC dig, but ill be damned if I can find it now.

the 3PM is now the 3PMX "thumbsup"

I used the same thread to set up my 3PM, digs worked flawlessly.

I have a TQ3 with EPA's and a 3 pos switch added. It cost me $15 total so it works for now but i will be happy when i can upgrade.

3PM-X. Very simple remote which can be good or bad. I like it because it is smaller and does just what I need not a whole lot more.

I use a 3PK, (4PK shown) with the 3CH programmed to what used to be the steering trim. I just assigned the steering trim over to DT3.
