What Is This?

I've been eyeballing those...wonder if they're road legal and what their top speed is...
I know Mississippi is allowing them now. There is several companies using them for fleet trucks. Such as landscapers and a couple of handyman outfits. We have some over there(work). I am in Alabama @ 15 miles from Miss. and Alabama will not tag them yet. There is a guy here who imports them. He just buys a 40ft shipping container at a time. That is the way they sell them, never know exactly what he is getting. May be a Mitsubishi mixed in with a couple of Daewoos etc.... Some 2 wheel drive some 4. The hunters here love them. He has sold over 200 of them in the 4-5 years. Been sending to a local body shop for a camo job and some hunter friendly features like racks and shit.

They will fun +/- 55ish mph.

Here's a list of state reg's regarding these things. Looks like I could drive one, just not on the interstate. Unfortunately I live right off of the interstate and couldn't legally get it out of my neighborhood. :x

Good to know, I see where we can run them here since 01/1/12. Been a while since I had checked. My have to invest in one.

I dunno...some of them are damn expensive. Personally I'd be better off buying a small pickup. Or a full size.

30-40 mpg is a huge selling point though...

True. Plus there is not much between the driver and whatever it may hit in a wreck. Another thing is I am a big boy. I would feel like I was putting in on like a coat when I got in it:lmao:

Oh, yeah, good point.

Still, I've seen a 6'7" 300lb+ guy in a Smart Car. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. :ror:

When I was part owner in an aquaculture business here in MS we were importing the Mitsubishi's. We sold alot to fish farmers around here to use on farms. I had one for a couple years. Back then, 10 years ago, parts were a beotch to get and even harder to find a mechanic that would touch them. Mine was 4x4 and would hit 40mph on flat land. You could get one wheel off the ground turning at high speeds. I'm only 6' and I was very very uncormfortable. We did import several sets of axles in which I still have some. Artic Cat quad wheels were a direct fit on them too. I like my side by side much better!

I know where there is a 4 door 4x4 one camo'd out for $4500.00 that looks cool.

They've been here for a while, they're road legal if they're 15 years old or older like any JDM vehicle. I like them, but I wouldn't want to drive one, I'm 6 feet tall and had a hard enough time fitting in an '80 Hilux...
