what servos do you suggest?

I recently killed my front servo and would like to get some better ones, I have looked around and dont know how much torque I need.

Metal gears are a deffinate but do I need digital servos?

What servos do you guys suggest?

How much torque do I need?

I plan to go to hobbytown usa tomorrow to pick some up but I need to know more about what I wnt before I go. Please help, thanks.

I usually recommend at least 200oz/in torque but the Hitec 645MG's(133oz-in, $35) are really tough to beat for the money. They're not the highest torque around but 98% of the time they get the job done just fine. If you're looking for comp-level power look into the Hobbico CS-170 (330 oz-in, $90). Either one should be easily available at a local hobby shop.

I don't think digital is critical for a crawler, whatever you get make sure it's got metal gears in it, plastic doesn't last very long.

I reccomend Hitec 950 well over 400 oz. I run those front and rear,they will move the whole car when needed. Super gnarly and are well worth the $$$$

The hitec 645mg's do pretty well...mine lasted a year roughly before one of the gears stripped a few teeth. Now I'm running an rc4wd mayhem servo that has 220oz of torque at 6v. So far the mayhem servo is doing pretty good...has no problem turning rovers...pretty good servos for $30.

I went cheap and got the hitec 325's, I'm happy with them for now they work ok. I plan on getting some stronger ones sooner or later (I dont have the cash for the good stuff right now). I plan to get some motors soon and I'm not going cheap on them. thanks for all your help guys.

This a area of your truck that is very important and takes a beating I like the JR servo 8711 400 oz but any of the big heavy duty servos will outlast and out preform the lighter duty servos and in the long run it's a cheaper way to go.

i got a axel stocker for 10 bucks and it is 20 times better than the stockers. i know its not the best out there but for that money it works "thumbsup"
