What shocks to get?

I actually love that BB #4962 package ;) So many goodies in there! :D Do they really fit on the 10.2 platform? They seem too big to me. Big Bore or GTS?

May I suggest some kyosho triple velvet shocks? Get them while you can cause they are discontinued but it will be be the moat smooth shocks you ever try out. Either get them of eBay or pay more and get them from super shafty

After watching some SCX10 videos with the BB on, i think they red springs may be too stiff for a crawler.

Yes they are too stiff for most crawlers, but if you have larger scale and/or heavy 10lbs scaler, might be ok.

You can use the Scx10 springs.

Or Losi buggy springs (front and rear for different lengths) come in many different spring rates and identified by color. "thumbsup"

AE buggy springs too. :)

I'm liking my new GMade xd piggy backs at 93mm. They're a little firmer than the stockers, mainly I suspect because they HAVE OIL IN THEM haha and are a little wider so need spacers.

But they work really well so far. A tad more bobble but a lot less roll and mess.

I was literally online to pick up some big bores for one of my 10 II's because I wanted smooth function over scale looks on that rig. That is when I started seeing talk about the TRX 4 GTS shocks being a viable option. I went that route. I have only had them a short while; but... smooth, non-leaking, inexpensive and unlike the Big Bores they have spring adjuster and are scale. I think as some have said, this may be the new Traxxis go to for scale trucks instead of big bores.

Is that how the shocks come, or are those modded?

I use the trx4 shocks, no leaks and they have a few different springs u can use for tuning.

TRX4 GTS Shocks and Springs

I put together some part#'s for you all.

This shock features an 11mm diameter shock body, and they are 90mm long at full extension and 65mm long when compressed, delivering 25mm of travel !

Pair of GTS shocks #8260
.......or, look on ebay. A brand new set of 4 with springs from a "take-off" ran me $46.00 "thumbsup"

And at $6.00 for a pair of springs, tuning the ride won't break the bank.

Standard spring rates that come on the TRX4

no stripe .45 #8041 (Front)
green stripe .54 #8040 (Rear)

Option spring rates

yellow stripe .22 #8042
white stripe .30 #8043

blue stripe .61 #8045
