Hey all, I've got a bruiser laying around that I'm trying to decide what to do with.. should I restore it? if so I need to pick a body because the frame might need to be shortened/ lengthened...

keep it stock? i plan on driving this thing once it's done so that might not be the solution

keep the frame and use juggy or tlt-1 axles and tranny?

or just sell the dang thing and start with something new..

I can't post pics here, so they are at:

let me know, thanks

you could give it to me!
there are some nice bruisers on here in the small/scale section. :)

i would suggest that you fix it up really nice for me. but mike beat me too that one by far.

make it scale man!! bruisers are awesome

well, for the love of every thing good in this world, dont leave it on a shelf. anything else but that, well i guess making a show truck then sitting it on the shelf might be worse.

Spend a whole lot of time and energy building up the nicest crawler ever seen, and then as Grizzly said.

Go out side and Crawl the piss out of it..

thanks for the replies guys!!

ok for all who said "give it to me"... you "give" me 500.00 and i'll "give" the bruiser to you (w/ 4 midnight pumpkin bodies)... lol

my problem is that i can't seem to pick a body for it, and the axles and tranny are way too fragile for my driving, plus replacement parts are wicked expensive

i've got a navigator body that would look sweet on it, and i thought i'd go back to stock, but chrome everything, then get another frame and do tlt axles, pirate the 3 speed from my fire truck, and make/ buy a tranfer case.

here's a link to my picturetrail.com album if anybody wants to see the pics without going to maxxtraxx..

Nice truck. i don't think the drive train is too fragile for driving... i know many bruiser owners that drive them all the time. you can yard bash the as much as you want, I wouldn't say you should hardcore crawl with the axles, but they are pretty strong as a regular RC truck goes...

chroming the truck sounds good. It's also a good way of improving the value of it.

that clod body looks wicked scale on it, you should use that one for sure, and make sure you wheel it, wheel it till it breaks

Well there you have it from the horses mouth. A fellow bruiser/mountaineer owners says they will hold up, GO for it.

well guys, it looks like the project is on hold...

i was finishing up the bearing installation in the axles and noticed that the front axle did not turn that smooth.. when i took it apart i found that the back side of the housing is bent. i tried to straighten it out, but that metal is too soft to be bending it back and forth, so i figured that this made the decision no to go back to stock easier

so now the choice was tlt or jugg2 axles? i i wanted to keep the leaf springs to keep it somewhat scale, but i'm going to have to fab u bolts to attach the tlt axles, plus i'd have to use a king hauler rear axle as the spring distance is wider in the back, and the rear (front) tlt axle won't match up

so then i took apart the mammoth dump truck and test fit that axle... well it's way too dam big to be anything close to scale.. lol, and again i'd have to make u bolts to get it to fit

so it seems that either the truck is headed back into the box.. and going back into storage, or it wll be offered up for sale
