Just wondering what people here have in their vehicles at all times. I was raised by a trucker, and his view was "if you must go, go prepared". Needless to say it was amazing to see how much stuff he managed to cram in that truck. I was just doing a little inventory of the things that are always in my pickup, or that I've installed for various reasons, and beginning to think that I'm paranoid :lmao:

fire extinguisher
general first aid kit
large wound first aid kit
decent hydraulic jack
2500w inverter
extension cords
vehicle accident kit (has a disposable camera and notebook)
rain gear/high vis gear
safety triangle set (set them up on the road behind you if broken down, i usually just call them road flares)
1 gallon drinking water
portable lights
air filter
2.5 gallons each of oil and coolant and at least 1 quart trans fluid, bottle of 90w
usually a fuel and oil filter (used my spares on the last change)
chair
cooler
tie-down straps
few cans of spray lube
basic tool kit
ice scraper
a roll of paper towels
cable to connect phone to stereo
EDIT: jumper cables
and last but not least, a flashlight.

all of this in my 95 dodge.

so what's your list?

A tire pressure gauge in the glove box, and a Jim Gaffigan cd in the player.

Leave nothing seen, as that is incentive for theft.

tinted windows and a locking tool box solve that problem

Locks just keep honest people honest.

agreed, i have no faith that keeping my toolbox in the bed locked will keep a determined thief out, its just to keep the casual one at bey. haven't had an issue myself, but i do keep everything as hidden as i can. also slobin3d, how much was the on-board air? been thinking about it, but may just pick up a little pancake compressor since i already have the inverter. did find an air carry tank in the shed that i have to get mounted up tonight.

I laugh at you. Ignorance is bliss. Enjoy your youth.

Just wondering what people here have in their vehicles at all times.

Two snowbrushes (both broken)
three more ice scrapers
the two wheelcovers that were busted by a guardrail
a piece of vinyl siding (@ 24"x24")
4-5 CD's,
some chewing gum (not yet used)
a 15 yr old atlas for a state I don't even live in anymore
Reg. & proof of Ins. is in there somewhere

Haven't opened the glovebox in years, God only knows what's in there.

Lets see. In my 91 silverado

-A pile of real estate papers.
-aquafina bottle with sport top. This is to spray on the windshield because the sprayer doesnt work on my side.
-general hand tools in a case.
-George Strait 50 number ones cd
-Los Lonley Boys cd.
-stack of rental property keys

Thats about what I have in my truck as a constant.

This is a terrible thread!

Don't list what you have in your vehicle guys!

Like EeePee said above,

"Leave nothing seen, as that is incentive for theft".

Most common break in cause is probably quarters in the ashtray. A crackhead cannot walk by a vehicle with anything of value visible, especially any amount of money. Even a buck worth

-jacket
-hoodie
-folding knife
-something
-redbull
-pen
-small moleskine
-mints
-beanie
-coconut

All of these are hidden at those compartments though... Only the beanie sits behind the rear window, visible to the outsiders. I hate clutter in my car, everything got to be neat and tucked away.

EDIT: I forgot adding my fog horn to the list.

From Snatch:

Policeman: What's in the car?
Turkish: Seats and a steering wheel.

The truck has normal roadside stuff in it as well as a bottle of Diesel Kleen.

Jeep has recovery/roadside gear and tools, 2 gallon fuel can and funnel, first aid kit, a few loose coins, random screws, and 1/2 a spilled soda.

Tinted windows are just one more reason for thieves to break into your car. Think about it. You are hiding things that you don't want people to steal.

Posted live from a city where you can't have anything nice unless you can afford to replace it once it gets stolen

Landscaping gloves, shop towels, tape measure, maybe .71 in loose change, registration, owners manual, proof of insurance, and one pink foyd cd.

Oh, and seats & a steering wheel....
