I've used these two:

Smallest size, TP 45C 850 mah, but also shortest run time. This is just to show you the battery, I'm sure better deals can be had elsewhere:

Hyperion 35C 1100 mah. A bit larger, but still a great battery. Again, this is just to show the battery, better deals can be found elsewhere:

These are more near the top of the price range, but both are high quality. There are many batteries priced much lower.

There are many batteries which will fit the plate, usually in the 1100 to 1500 mah range, wether you have room or not will depend on wheel offset, how much steering you have, etc. Look around for some build threads that show these batteries and others mounted, also look in the electronics section, there is a lot of info there.

I have the Hyperion 35c one posted above... Great reviews on them. I still haven't tried mine but I have tried the 25C on a simple lathe motor and it had way more power then the cheap batteries I used to use... My 35c ones are for my big motor!

I had a couple of the ckrc 3s 1500mah 25c bursts on my Axial for over a year now with no problems. I could easily run two or three courses depending on how much I used dig, and they mount on my front axle no problem!

I have used the 3s 1300 ckrc, turnigy 3s 1300. I just got some maxamps 3s 1100's that are nice and small (and were on sale!)

X2 best choices out there ! imho

I run the hyprian 1100mah 35c w/ a 45t handwound cc sidwinder 7955tg servo and a 645mg and get 3 course no prob! When not comping get 45-50 mins of run time.

I just picked up some 1100 mah packs from Max-Amps. Fits like a glove. My CKRC packs were too big and rubbing against the tires with my stock wheels. Put the max amps pack on, with a little velcro on the bottom and the velcro straps to keep them secure. If I get a chance, I will take a pic and post up.
