Hello,
I do have a traxxas slash 4x4 ultimate and I would like to change the tires on it but the track I race at I just don't know which tire would more suit the track I run at. The track is like soft dirt but is watered to keep the dust down, anyway I was just asking which tire has the most grip but doesn't wear as bad. The tires I have picked are the pro-line gladiators or calipers (they are both allowed at my track). If anyone even has a better tire to recommend for me that would be nice. As for power supply a mamba max pro w/ a 1415 4-pole motor is in it. (I don't know if that would where the tires more). But it has to be 1/10 size tires and if I have to buy new rims then I will do that. Can I just use my old rims from the stock tires? And yes I will not bash with these tires, so it only track racing tires.
Thank you to anyone that can help me and I do appreciate it:),

Which track you racing at? In the STL area? Did some racing down there a couple years ago..
Honestly the guys on the short course forum might have a better idea.
If the track is packed at all, a small pin/pattern tire will be the way to go.. Packed clay especially.
If the track starts out really loose the calipers will work pretty good. The Gladiators would only be good on a VERY loose track that doesn't develope a groove.. Almost a track that is MUD..
If the track is watered and they don't do much maintenance after racing starts, it could require a couple sets of tires.
Something that handles the loose stuff at the start of the day, and then either a "trimmed" set of the same tires to reduce the traction a bit, or a set of something with smaller pins and blocks, to make up for the loss of dirt to drip on..
Just my $.02 worth though..
For me, I liked the AKA tires. The Rebars for hard pack or carpet and the City Blocks for LOOSE stuff..

Yes I do race in the STL area ( dirt burners). The track was flooded and I do not know the condition of the track at this point. But say if it is packed or loose you sed either the calipers will work (depending on track) and the AKA tires, where did you buy those, if you don't mind me asking? So you sed with the "STL dirt burners" track you would get the calipers? If so I will order a set for me but before I do, what rims can be used with either tire, pro-line renegades?
Thank you for your help, I do appreciate it,

Calipers are hard to beat. They work great everywhere but wear quick.

Any 2.2 3.0 wheel for your truck will work with the tires your looking at. I really like DE wheels.

Is there any other tires that work great and don't wear fast, If not then the calipers will have to do. But pro-line makes the "suburbs" or what-ever there called, but I don't know about those because they have short tread, they also make badlands, but if none of those are good, then like I sed the calipers will have to do.

I use the Proline Suburbs on both my short course but my local track is clay and very well maintained. For clay I recommend them all the way, but non-clay no way.

Luckily here in sunny San Diego our clay track is in a warehouse so weather doesn't affect it much at all.

De wheels are glue on. Pick what ever brand you like the looks of.
