While testing Elite against others we found big C Rating trickery

They probably don't care.......figure they spend an absurd amount on advertising, which hits a large percentage of hobbyists....while this thread is legit, probably less than 1% will ever actually know it exists...

If they respond, it just brings more attention to it, so that 1% becomes 10% or more.....

Yep i'm looking at the ad in the upper right hand corner right now, lol. I guess your right. Although the packs chris got (same as i got) was the batts that they were selling at insanely cheap prices not to long ago because they were discontinuing them. I wonder if that has to do something with the quality of the cells. Its ok i'll run them till they die and send them in on warranty, i got 3 years, probably only last a few months like most my cheap lipos do. Probably less, the temps i get off them are insane, i'm afraid to put them in my pocket after they are dead might go up in flames, but during the winter they could be use full hand warmers inside a pair of gloves.

Very interesting post! Thanks for the info! I'm glad you tested HP as that's what I use... But I can't lie you will be getting an order from me once mine die... That may take a while since I just got them last year! Thanks for the real world info and it's pretty easy to see which brand X and P are! Glad I didn't order them!

Really good info Chris and its nice to see your activity providing sound proof. I can say in the past I have owned several of the elite c packs with no issues except one where the battery did blow up while being charged.(bad soldering on a cell) anyways, I can't say I have ever owned any of your lipo packs but I am interested. I currently run the turnigy 3s 2200's in my trucks, I know some have issues with hobbyking, but a year strong and they seem to be consistenty running well. I'm just wondering of you have a lipo pack that you believe would blow the doors off that would be compared in size and mah. Also, how would you stack up your batteries to the SMC brands? I am a very avid user of their 5000mah lipo's but often wonder if their "c" rating is a bunch of crap. They have good longevity, but lack punch.

Thanks alot for running the VX and VE series agianist yours! obviously the the vx 35c is a solid pack and your packs are VERY comparable at a much better price. Its proof that the cells you are using are among the highest quality out there.

Only other thing i would like to see is multiple burst varations figured into your testing. While these might raiseyour percent difference between your 35 and the HP vx 35c I think we've established that for the price you have the winner. The only reason i want to see a burst graph is due to the fact that the hyperion have a lower IR which relates to the "punch" or burst capabilities of a pack. Like i said you might see more of a difference between the cells with this figured in but you never know until its tested.

thanks guys

Well, We are doing some testing on some larger capacity cells. We will have to see. Haven't tested any SMC packs. But by looking at them in the past, they're just re-labeled packs that alot of people carry, including ourselves as a generic pack...

another fact is that no other company will be able to beat your prices because there is no middle man, no distributor, no retailer, nothing you build packs packs and your selling direct which is why you guys have the great prices you do. Yall are doing great keep it up!

So I got to test out my new Elite 850 11.1 3s 25c's today. I was previously running Thunder Power 1350 45c and 910 30c along with 1 TP 2200 (not sure offhand what C rating cauz I'm at work).

Although I have not tested run time's in comparrison, let me tell you, the punch of these 850's was ungodly compared all 3 TP sizes I run. My Berg was doing wheelies from a dead stop full throttle...The power on all 3 of my TP's has NOTHING on the Elite's. These things are bada$$.

Customer for life "thumbsup""thumbsup"

A few days ago i "thought" i had a problem with an elite 1000 3S,

my wife and i went on a little crawling venture and after about an HOUR her LCC (Lipo) just completely DIED!! (no steering, throttle, lights, Nothing!)
so we came home and i connected it to my charger and it said Faulty, shorted cell:evil:
so i checked it with a MM and got a 5.74V reading from a 11.1V lipo:shock:
the lipo never even got remotely warm!!!
i contacted chris and we worked out a plan to get it sent in, BUT that night i got curious thinking lipo cutoff might not have worked and connected it to my charger and told it a lie! i entered it as a 2S hoping to get it to accept a charge and to my amazement it did:mrgreen:

so after about 10 min's i unplugged it and reconnected it as a 3S and balance charged it and it worked:shock::shock:

i have as of today put 13cycles on the lipo and it has not experienced any sort of odd behavior.. the Elite came back from 5VOLTS!!!!!!!!!
The pack has the same amount of runtime, and looks the same as it did the day he sent them to me:shock:

There is a reason these packs are called ELITE"thumbsup" and i accidentaly found out why:oops:
Chris you have a customer here for as long as you continue to build these packs!! Thanks again for the Great support for a Great pack:mrgreen:

Chris, long time friend, and avid elite user, out of the 5 1700 3s Batt's i have only one went bad, in the 2 yrs since i got them from ya, and it was my kid i think! I love the 1700's and wish ya guy's would bring em back, but as u know "weight savings" is what everyone wants!
This thread is a huge advantage over the "Other" Brands that Lie about and mis inform their customer's about what they're truly getting for their money, you my friend are "True" good business!

I have alway's and will alway's provide CBP.com Packs for the true rc enthusiast's!
Thanks Chris

You get to test the new Maxamps 150c packs yet? I guess rough math says they should discharge at like 900+ amps in less than 30 seconds.....hopefully they got some big wire for that!

I am 99.999999999999999% positive that theres no way a battery can deliver that much power with out blowing itself up or having wire big enough to fit in a rc car that can handle that much power efficiently. Its probably just a 35c battery. I would like to see a battery test on one of these, maybe we should all donate 1$ to see the test results"thumbsup"

So. When are you going to get more in stock?

Also, have you looked into doing any small packs for the 1.9's? Something close to a 350mah 2s 40c?

I have a sheet to look at. Trying to get some dimensions. What would ideal dimensions be in metric?

The cells will be beginning of Nov"thumbsup"

Thanks, i just remember i used to run a123s for their high discharge ratings for dual hh pullers but they never seemed to give the same power as lipo, which your graph in the other thread clearly explains why,

I really have no preference to the size as I'm sure they'll still be smaller than my current 800mah packs. I'm just trying to reduce weight. I can currently run 20+ minutes with old, cheap 2s 800mah packs, so as long as I can get about 7 or 8 minutes with a smaller, lighter pack, I'll be happy. Depending on price, I'd buy 2 to 4 of them (probably 4, since I like to run 1 battery per course).

Hey Chris,

Do you have any idea when you'll have the 1300 3s elites for sale again?

Can't wait to try your batteries after reading all of this :)
