got an uncle in law that helped me out looking at something for me that was near where he lived (3 hours from me) it ended up being a huge pain because of Houston traffic.

i want to get a "thank you" for him. hes a big jack daniels fan. drinks a jack and coke every night i think.

id like to get him something similiar, say under $50

suggestions?

Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare

Can land some Wild Turkey 101 for you budget if you want to have him try something different.

That buffalo trace is on point though...really good stuff

Buffalo Trace is decent for sure, same distillery that does Pappy if memory serves too. If we're adding bourbons, Weller reserve if you can even find it, if not, Angel's Envy, Tin Cup, and Knob Creek are all also good.

For a bourbon another vote for Buffalo Trace.

If he likes a blended malt, I'm a fan of Monkey Shoulder.

On vacation this summer I picked up a small bottle of Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select. I loved it. If he's a JD fan, I'd highly recommend it.

thanks to a couple recommendations i went with the JD Single Barrell select. it was $2 over my budget, but had a nice box it came in.

i didnt look super long, but didnt find the Buffalo Trace.

Meh to each their own, thats why I like the Buffalo trace, can sip it or mix and not feel guilty cause of the price.

Not surprised you couldnt find it. Deliveries sell out before Noon where I am.

JD single barrel is good. I love it, but IMO, not worth what they charge. Gentleman Jack I'm ok with price and it is a good sippin' whiskey.

However, to be fully honest...I'm fine sipping JD Black label. I love the flavor, and if I want to mix it with coke (coke zero here as well), I don't feel too bad about doing so! But I drink it straight 99% of the time (sometimes with ice, sometimes neat).
