Why is my spectrum battery blinking... also charging question

So I didn’t purposefully buy this battery (I was at my only lhs and just said give me a shorty pack) but last night I was sitting with the lights off and saw the thing blinking... wtf

I know I’ve been out of the game a bit but what’s up with this?


Also, the battery apparently is a “high voltage” but my charger seems to max out at 4.6v (I think). Is that going to be ok?

This is the battery in question, forgot to add it to the original post. You can see (barely) by my finger the case is lit up red from inside

Yes, you can use a normal lipo charger to charge HV packs but each cell will only go to the max 4.20V (not 4.60V). Doesn't harm the battery at all except you are not fully utilizing it's voltage/capacity for what you paid extra for.

As for the glow, did the battery come with any instructions? Spektrum SMART battery self-discharges after a (programmable) number of hours of non-use. It will then self-charge to put itself in storage voltage. I'm wondering if the LED is telling you that it is in the process of self-discharging.

No instructions on the box, I went back to double check.

I ran it today and recharged at home and the light went out. I’ll give them a call Monday and see if I can find out. Thanks for the possibility
