Will a 32P pinion gear work in a Capra?

Trying to wrap my head around the idea of 'gear pitch'.

The pinion gear in the Capra kit (ax30569) has a pitch of 48, but I want to use a 32P 9T pinion gear on the motor.

Yes, I know the stock transmission cannot cannot the 9T pinion gears, but supposedly the Vitavon & Treal transmission cases can.

What are the implications of using pinion gear with a different pitch?

I just put together a Capra kit, and it's 32p. I switched to an 11t 32p pinion with no problems.

Everything that I read about gears says that the pitch has to match. But guess with most things in life, there are exceptions.

To back up what you said, found this review from Jessica T. on Amazon.com for the Treal transmission case:

Machining is beautiful. All stock internals fit perfectly. Was able to install a 9t 32p pinion to counter act installing 2.2 5.75" tires.​

The manual is incorrect, the Capra takes a 32 pitch pinion.

Thanks meatmonkey for the clarification. Makes more sense, why the Amazon reviewer & twade984 got 32p pinion gears to work.

Add that errors in the Capra manual, scared me away early on. (On the bright side, there is a huge Capra community who have worked through these issues.)

Sorry I should have been more clear, the factory pinion and spur are 32p.

I agree, the manual leaves a lot to be desired. The Capra was probably my least favorite build, although I really like the rig once it’s done.
