Will there ever be a RTR SCX10?

RTR's are bad in my opinion, the build is the best part of this hobby. Any idiot can buy something, if you build it, it's yours for ever. I've built a bunch of scalers, ran them , beat them, abused the crap out of them, then sold them, they're all still mine. I built it. It be owned by someone else but it's MY rig. I especially think when it's fabbed with your hands it's that much better. Buying off the shelf parts slapping them on is just boring, anyone can build one like that. Do something different, something never seen before. That to me is the true soul of this hobby.

Well this would be my first kit and i for sure want it to look diff then everyone elses

Lol i was thinking about getting that rtc and didnt really ask any ?'s yet just kinda looked on the posts ppl put up in the crawler section and no one really said anything bad about it.

Use the search funtion in the electronics section you will find way to many posts about the RTC crappy electronics.

The problem is with Axial not RTR's I own two HPI's and they are RTR and have top notch electronics. Get the Venom Creeper and you will be happy

It's a great first kit to build. Take your time and look at Pirate4x4.com for inspiration. There's some sick rigs on there. If you need help in the build feel free to PM me.

Grimgard, please edit your above post into the one right above that. Post padder! post padder! it helps with bandwith, from my understanding.

lol well im new to the scale and crawler stuff and thought I would just ask about the rtr and now I know not to lol and I would never get a walmart rc and about the venom creeper I don't know much about it...I just know axial has a lot of parts at the hobby shops and for the scale trucks what else is good to get besides the axial

:lol:...The best part of Scale r/c's is building them. There are other kits besides the Axial. Tamiya makes several great kits to get you started like the Hilux or F-350 or there is always the CC-01 based scale rigs like Pantablo likes to build using the New Bright LR3 bodies. Infact the most fun I have had with a scale rig was based on the CC-01 chassis that I put a Nikko FJ Cruiser body on.
The point is there are many companies out there that make great scale chassis and many more scale parts so that you can build your own scale crawler. Two great vendors for scale parts are RPP and TCS and there are plenty more right here on the board if you search.

Good luck with your build.

Well im going to check out all those trucks you talked about and figure out what I want to do and thanks for the info

SCX10 was my first kit and scaler i've ever put together. I've since put one more together. You just appreciate it more when you build it. Too much fun!

I hope not.

RTR are a scourge.
i hope there isnt either i regret buying my rtr ax-10 i shoulda just got the artr or kit. i could see an artr scx-10 kit but no rtr they are just to cheap on parts. i belive they are fun to put together and its easier to make mods and you learn how to work on your truck much faster

I chose to go with the SCX10 for a scale truck because it's got about everything needed to put together a nice scale chassis right out of the box. And I chose a Pro-Line CGR Blazer body so I would be spared the tube work I wanted my truck to have. Not exactly what I wanted but close enough.

Sure, I built it from a kit, painted it, wired it, modified the wheelbase length to fit the body, etc. etc. It took 1 approx. 3 weeks to get it all together and tuned.

But even though I purposely went this route to save myself modification and research time (time is very valuable to me because of my job) I still ended up feeling like I "cheated" myself and took the short, easy route to a scale truck.

Avoid the RTR's. You'll be doing yourself a favor in the long run...

Yeah I am for sure going to get the scx kit and I think it will be fun and confusing at the same time since its my first ever kit and when you guys stretch the frame to fit the bodys how are you guys doing that?

They're not stretching the frame, but you can use longer or shorter links to make the wheelbase longer or shorter to match your body.

Most make their own links. If you search around there are some threads on how to make them yourself, or you can find a vendor to make them in the lengths you need.

I was looking up the scx and the tamiya highlift and was wondering what the differences are and witch one would be better to get? Also can you upgrade the tamiya like you can the scx just changing parts on it like shocks and maybe a new body and if so can you use axial parts on it?

Well the SCX10 was the first kit I ever built electronics wise anyway and the first kit zi built in many years, it was fun and easy. It would be nice to see a kit that included some of the electronics but we all change them out anyway.
